Default 225/45 on stock wheels?

i was thinking of getting rims but decided to stick with the stock wheels, so now looking at some tires.... our cars come with 215/45/17 and i was just thinking it would be better to have a wider tire.... so will 225/45 fit fine or no? don't make fun if this is a retarted question.... dunno much when it comes to wheels and such. and please dont respond with those smartass comments telling me to search.... feel free to leave any input thanx

Go to 1010tires .com and use the tire size calculator

http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp
that should help.

It will fit but it will throw your speedometer off by 1mph. 70 mph will actually be 71... not too bad.

Yes that's a "Good-to-Go" fitment option for the O.E. wheels!
