Hey, a local dealer says the XB has a sunroof option. However, I didn't see it on the official Scion site.

Do you know if the dealers just out source this to another shop???

If so, will it be covered by the warranty???

Thanks.

I'm thinking since the dealership is installing the moonroof, your scion will have its warranty.

- I've read/heard that putting aftermarket moonroofs in a car that initially didn't have one is detrimental to your car's dependebility. I've heard/read that it ruins the roof of your car making it weaker. Someone please inform us possible moonroof buyers. thanx

Unless the shop doing the installation is welding some steel beams around the sunroof, some structural regidity is going to be lost. How much is lost is the real question.

as long as you take delievery from the dealer with the sunroof then it will be covered underwarranty.

It will be covered under the warranty of the manufacturer of the moonroof and the installer. Not covered under the warranty by Scion/Toyota.

Ditto.

It will have its own warranty....mine being 5 years parts/labor, which is even better than the 3 year/36k mile warranty the car has itself.
