I got a custom-made 2.25". 3" seems too big, you'll lose power definitely at the back end.

i have 2 inch from cat/axle (a mix in between. not all the way to cat, but farther than axle) to the tip. (no muffler). Power feels good and it sounds growly!

i think they put three inch pass the cadylitic converter to the magnaflo exhaust tip i have. it sounds decent but i remember when i got it first installed i thot i felt loss power. so if a custom 2.25 inch is not available, should i go back to the stock 2 inch?

3 inch and larger is only useful if you have a turbo where you are trying to get it to flow better since it gets hotter.

for your application 2 inch or 2.25 max diameter unless you plan on boosting if you go with a slighty more restrictive exhaust you'll notice an increase in tourque again. designing an exhaust is not easy cause you need the best possible flow. with the ability to retain heat in it to increase the velocity.

so how does it sound without a tip? seems like it would sound "broken" or way too loud. anyway, i wanted to get a double chrome tip, but i havent seen any that can fit in the little hole! anybody kno where they sell tips like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-...spagenameZWDVW

i suppose with that kit, the hole is a lot bigger. but anyway, does anybody have the double exhaust (not dual like in the pic, but just one side, but two). thanks for the help

i have a custom bent 2.5" i felt a loss of power as well but that changed when i got my header and intake... kinda feels the same when it was all stock now... just with a kick in the torque range of rpms .... from 3500 to 5000... but if i had to do it again i would prob go with a 2.25" or a 2" stock is 1.5" up to you bro

You can't go back to the stock 2" exhaust because the stock exhaust is a pittifully small 1.5" from the resonator back.

I custom built a 2.25" mandrel bent exhaust system from the cat-back to the muffler. The at the muffler it expands to 2.5" for more muffler options.

If you go bigger than 2.25" you will lose all your torque. You will make a couple more hp, but you won't see them until you spin your engine over 5000 rpm.

ok heres my question. i have the DC Sports axle back system on my RS 2.0 since it already came with it but what I wanted to know is if I can upgrade the piping from the muffler back? anybody know what the DC sports piping size is? I figured 2.25-2.50" would be the best size for the new piping? let me know asap. Thanks

2.0 is best. 2.25 is for say a s/c . 2.5 is pretty much the largest u can put on a highly modified turbo . any more and bye bye power.

I put 2.25 on my car with an InVidia axle-back. Of course i didnt chop down my whole exhaust i still left the cat and the resonator and pretty much all plumbing in between, but what i did do was make the axle-back into a cat-back and ran a nice header and the power is nice... I dont think chaning the whole exhaust system will give much more of a power change, but whatever you dont make in power you will make in NOISE!!

How is that possible? making a 'catback' w/o doing any cutting, especially on an xA?
