Default anyone installed the door moldings to protectfor door dings?

I wanted to get some protection for the sides of my car to protect it from door dings and other stuff. I am talking about the long thin strip that goes across the doors and body of the cars...I have seen pictures of them installed on a car, but does anyone have any comments on these and how they look? If you have any pix, please post. Thanks!

Just don't get anything from walmart or AutoZone like those "chrome" or "gold" ones. I thought that Rockblocker or maybe Headlight Armor makes a clear set that should work but I can't seem to find them at the moment.
