The 20th Anniversary GTI came in 3 colors: Jazz Blue, Spa Yellow and Black Magic Pearl. All had the AWP code 1.8T, a six speed manual gearbox, the brakes off an Audi TT, 18” OZ Aristo wheels with summer tires, a tighter sport suspension, cloth Recaro seats, and a sport Muffler. Each one had a numbered plaque (2500 made it to the United States).

If you want to buy one, make sure the build date is after November of 2002 (so it has the revised, non-faulty coilpacks and upgraded window regulators). Even if it does not, both have a warranty extended out to 7 years. Make sure you use 91 octane or higher gas, and especially that you use full synthetic oil - it is used to cool the turbo.

There is a lot of information on the vortex. If you can swing it - enjoy!

I had a VW and my GF has one now... they are the WORST cars for electrical problems... everything will go.. oh and my doorhandle fell off of my old VW... yep, just came off in my hand.. lol...

I dont think you understand the problems they have... Yes all cars have some type of problems, but not as many as VWs... They are a nightmare, but to each their own...

Me and Mr. Mac understand this i guess becuase he has owned one and i have worked on one plenty of times, amy, window regulators and electrical problems are a huge issue with those cars, im telling you. get yourself one, but please dont have it as a daily, personally i LOVE the styling of the euros, they are just soo nice, a nice drop a fat lip wheel and some other minor mods and the car looks nice. but what comes with that is to much hassle. and yes every car has it problems, and i tell you something, i would much rather have a car that would blow a motor once a year than one that has electrical problems. electrical problems are a pain in the ___ and also the MOST expensive to diagnose and repair. im sure scott could back me up on this one.

I agree on the v dubs, they are worthless pieces of overpriced crap. If you get one make sure it has some sort of warranty (you will need every bit of it). I would consider buying an american built car before a v dub.

Amy, when it comes to "love", your track record ain't that great! :rofl: :doh: But really, VW has some MAJOR quality issues as of late. Check Consumer Reports or J.D. Powers and Assoc. To sum it up; KIA is beating them on quality! :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

We don't drive it very much and no i don't fit in it very well and visibility out sucks! It drives like a complete pig! If you close your eyes it feels like a 75 Vega automatic! :doh: Very slow, a Corolla would out-handle it, and if you look under the dash it looks like someone built it in their garage. Junk. It's sitting in the south side showroom if you want to see it. There is also a "67 Stout pickup fully restored, a 65 Crown restored and a few others.

oh, I fully realize how slow it actually is, i think a SCed xB could beat it, but I just love the body styling of the thing.

it was made to be cheap, so im not surprised, when would be a good time for me to go look at it? :P and cody would love to know as well.
