I hate the Lakers with a passion, but I have to admit, Kobe is pretty good.

I did not see this game, but I keep hearing about this. I'm curious, what the the final score with Kobe scoring 81 points. I'm not hating or nothing but that's a bit extreme for any player to have 81 points in one game. I mean what was the rest of the team doing?

The rest of the team was probably watching Kobe just like the rest of us.

^^^^^^^^^ Word! I just think it's hilarious when they win with Kobe taking 3/4 of the teams shots......Reminds me of myself in high school 8) :silly:

I was at the game! Once a player gets that close to breaking a huge record the rest of the team joins in and helps him get there. No matter how you feel about Kobe it's an outstanding record, second only to Wilt's 100 point game in 1962.

Haters or not, that was friggin' awesome. The vibe in the Staples Center was tangible, almost no one left before the game was over even though there was no chance the Raptors could get back into it.

Yes, I am a Lakers fan.

Dude, that musta been so amazing to see in person.

I think he coulda scored 80 in the game a couple of weeks ago but
P.J. pulled him out for the entire 4th quarter. I think he had something like
61 points thru 3 quarters.....WOW!

I am a huge laker fan and I watched this game from tip off to the end. The rest of the team was playing horrible. Kobe sat out for half the 2nd quarter and the lakers were down by 18. In the 2nd half he just took over. The were triple teaming and he was still hitting shots. There are too many Kobe haters, but when your that good people hate your success. He shot 60% so its not like he was shooting alright, he was on fire. Just so you all know he also set the laker record for most consecutive free throws made lastnight, he made 61 free throws over a span of games without a miss.

Does the state of Washington even have a basketball team?

Yeah I think so. They're the ones that scored 152 points last night in Double OT against the Suns.

...but all THAT, even the Seahawks winning their first trip to the Super Bowl in their 30-year history, was eclipsed by KOBE BRYANT SCORING FREAKIN' 81 POINTS! :eyes:

< -- was never a Sonics fan =P

EDIT: just to add. The game wasn't exactly a runaway, either. As bad as the Raptors are, they were still relatively close to the Kobes all the way to the end.

I'm not gonna lie, that stuff was impressive. I'm just bitter because the Seahawks' success got overshadowed by Kobe Bryant and his inability to miss.

Since I am a Packers fan, when you win the Super Bowl could you please send Mike Holmgren back to us! :silly:

if the rest of the lakers didn't suck so bad, he wouldn't have to take over games. people call him a hog, but it's not his fault. you should watch the games. he passes the ball, everyone else doesn't do jack with it, then they give it back to kobe and expect a miracle. that's why many times he ends up taking horrible shots. but regardless, haters will be haters. what we witnessed (those of us lucky enough to have watched) was nothing short of spectacular. congrats to kobe!

I didn't feel that the success of the Seahawks was overshadowed at all....I mean really it's all over television, all over the papers (and I know cause I work for one) sure you hear about Kobe, but if your in Seattle Kobe means nothing right now. GO HAWKS!

nothing abt the Lakers, the reason i dislike them is because of Kobe..... i finally clearify myself from the "laker hater" title..... heh...
i mean.... he is probably one of the greatest, truely no doubt abt that... but his attitude stinks..... jus a few nights ago where he got tough defense from Raja Bell, he jus dun admit the hardwork that other ppl have on him.... with his attitude, he'll never be a true champion..... and he doesn't take blame on himself, he blame others, when the Lakers are winning, he shows up and take the spot light.... but when the Lakers are losing, his name is not on the paper even though the stat shows that HE TOOK MOST OF THE SHOT AND MISSED, i jus dun think hes responsible enough to be the leader of the team.....

MJ will always be in my heart as one of the greatest, as far as Kobe goes..... he will NEVER and no one can ever convince me that he'll be the greatest!!!
