Default Ditched SR20 Sentra for tC need quick input

Hi Every Body,

Just traded my 01 sentra se auto for Flint Mica Auto 06. Got the kit + rear lip + trd exhaust. I got couple questions. How bad is the ride affected by just putting trd springs on stock ride. I want to lower the car but don't want to spend the fortune on it. Was wondering if could just get away with springs. And also how they hold up in long run? Next question, CAI. How much total gain with TRD intake and exhaust. I have no time to search casue dealer is waiting for my check in the morning. I need to make decision on these 2 things fast. Any help will be appretiated.

Thanks

i got stock struts and shocks on my TRD springs. Im guessing theyll last around 50k-60k or even as low as 30k depending how you drive. I daily drive so i guess im projecting 50k. the TRD intake hasnt been dynoed... well to my knowledge... but i dont think itll be much.

Having just spings will work fine for a while. Just be prepared to replace your shocks at some point.

I have hotchkis springs and have been running them for at least 10k+ without issue though.

sr20de and sr20det are basically the same engine.

One is FWD and the other is RWD. But the sr20de is Turbo ready. Same internals as the det

sr20de = 2.0l dual overhead cam, electronic fuel injection
sr20det = 2.0l Dual overhead cam, electronic fuel injection, Turbo

One is RWD, one is FWD. So you can not just do an engine swap in a 2001 sentra SE...... and I didn't think a 2001 sentra SE even came with a sr20...
Unless you did an engine swap from maybe a '95 se-r (My baby.. too bad I killed it :S stupid supra)

*these diffrances arent written by me they are from a forum about the sr20's*

The DET has oil squirter piston coolers
The DET has a bigger oil pump.
The DET has a different front pulley.
The DET has lower compression pistons (8.3:1 vs 9.5:1).
The DET has bigger injectors.
The DET has direct ignition.
The DET has a variable intake cam, runs retarded at idle, advanced mid range and retarded top end.
The DET has mechanical shim in bucket type lifters with a slightly bigger in duration exhaust cam.

The GTi-R DET has individual Throttle body injection.
The GTi-R DET has stronger main cap bolts.
The GTi-R DET has beefier rods.

Just about all the parts between a DET and a DE interchange.

seems to me you save a decent amount of cash buy doing a det swap in a sentra over trying to turbo the sr20 and buying all sorts of crap

but hey thats just me

I thought these motors could be used for FR or FF depending of the transmission. I wanted a 91 sentra se-r just so I could swap in a SR20DE. Awesome project car.
