I was thinking about using that paint on some parts under the hood and adding a light. Was waiting until I had something under the hood to display...

i am not sure about it. after you spray it on there, what will happen when it comes time to maintain it? does it cheap easliy? it might look ok that first week, but i don't think it will hold up.

I was thinking just spray a clear coat over it and make it permanent.

Do you plan on sanding the brushed aluminum before you apply the paint? Paint doesn't stick well to brushed aluminum. And you really can't sand brushed aluminum. You may have a problem with paint adhesion, a couple of days in the sun adn that sucker'll bubble up on ya. But hey, if you wanna give it a shot cool. I'd liek to see how it looks.

Ah, that stuff comes off with glass cleaner. I don't think your hot UV setup would last more than a month, especially on aluminum.
