Default Calling All Carbon Fiber Engine Cover Owners...

Hey guys I just recently picked up a Carbon Fiber Engine Cover for the TC and had a few questions. I have heard horrid stories with other cars with Carbon Fiber engine covers that if not mounted correctly leads to the car catching on fire because Carbon Fiber is a conductor. Did you guys use any of the foam or spacers from the stock engine cover to transfer to the CF cover? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think my concern would be that CF might not hold up to the heat inside of the engine compartment...
Is there any long-term users out there?

I've had this cover for a year. It's not a tC cover, but I did strip pieces from the original because the one I got off eBay had mounting holes too large so the rubber grommets came off the original to help support the cover.

The original also had a insulation type strip that covered the spark plugs that I carefully removed and and stuck it to the carbon fiber cover with velcro.

I'd be more worried about those covers that are totally stainless steel than carbon fiber.

Thanks, WDS - which one is that? I've seen two or three on ebay from different vendors...

No problems whatsoever here. It's been about six months.

The cover gets pretty hot, but then again--it's sitting on the engine.
