In your opinion is a stock sized crank pulley replacement worth the money in performance?

A company like ZPI offers a crank pulley stock size made out of 145.99. Does any one have dyno results on this?

The reason why I am asking is because I plan on having some made
to sell around 100 plus shipping. Now don’t get me wrong this is not a sales pitch I am just interested in knowing the people who drive the cars opinion on pulleys. I know that an overdrive underdrive situation would yield more power but that’s 3 pulleys more money and maybe a bit more intimidating to the unmechanically inclined so this is why I decided, for sales reasons to go with the stock size then theres power issues etc. I am curious on the dyno runs because the first pulley I make (the proto) will need to be installed on my stock Tc and tested for performance. I’m not going to sell these on hype I want actual #`s first. The prototype is the biggest cost on the project and if your out there with a ZPI or comparable pulley and have some #`s on its gains please post. Any input appreciated thanks in advance

It is definately worth the money I even opted for the anodized version for 165. I felt a huge diffrence in the pedal and the engine revs faster. I don't have a dyno available to test on. I didn't have a dyno before and after. With my setup I will be at least 170 wheel hp and tq. I can get a general idea how much it gave me. I know for a fact the Alphawerks header and Injen CAI nets 19hp and 13ft tq just from these two mods. Alphawerks had their dyno run with thier short ram intake, throttle body, exhaust, and header and their net was 24hp and 19tq. I am not sure how much diffrence the tb will make but the full 2.5" exhaust has made a diffrence. I should be really close to thier dyno without having their tb. On my setup I have their header (Alphawerks), ZPI S-pipe, ZPI midpipe with Magnaflow 12646 res and 43036 cat, Injen SES Exhaust, Injen CAI, ZPI Lightweight Crank Pulley V2. When I get to a dyno I can give you a really close estimate how much the pulley helped.

I thought about that but this pulley will be of the same quality if not better than the companies listed. They will be the same materials and the machining will be done by a company in business for over 30 years. They do government work and also race midgets and made and continue to make parts including aluminum pulleys for their cars. And I would never sell a part I would not put on my own TC. The quality is not my concern here it’s the results. As far as I can see no one has #`s on a stock size pulley replacement not even the companies that make them. If I get #`s with my pulley and could sell it for 50 dollars less which would you buy? Now the only thing stopping me from doing this is the nearly a grand for the prototype without a ballpark of the performance gains. Any #`s out there?

The gain on the zpi racing v2 is 10hp and 11ft tq.

Again thanks for the input I was expecting 5 to 7 and to hear 10 makes me happy :D Everything I have read on all of these pulleys not just the ZPI Racing one. Not to mention the acceleration diffrence. Keep in mind the ZPI Racing one only weighs 12.5 onces not even a full pould its sitting at 3/4 pound. The stock pulley is pretty heavy. I am going to weigh it when I can get a postal scale to see how much it is.
