Did you feel the earthquake cenetered right under Portland last night (http://www.geophys.washington.edu/recenteqs/Quakes/uw01290200.html)? <-- linked

It hit right after 6pm on Saturday night.

...earthquake occurred at 6:00:53 PM (PST) on Saturday, January 28, 2006.
The magnitude 2.8 event occurred 2 km (1 miles) SW of Portland, OR .
The hypocentral depth is 14 km ( 9 miles)... news source (http://www.geophys.washington.edu/recenteqs/Quakes/uw01290200.html)

Could you feel it? Reports are coming in on the radio that it definately shook up some people downtown... no conection to the SuperBowl next weekend.

I was driving in the truck at the time... never felt it. Wonder if it was a precurser to a bigger one... probably not though.

BUT...with all the rain.. virtually every day since early December! rain which has already caused mudslides, homes to slide down hills, and trees to simply fall over... I wonder if this quake shock anything else loose last night?

The farmers feilds out where I live are either stuill under water or are almost a silver looking from all the water completely drenching them. Several roads out near my place are under water still!

Rumbles? Nah... 2.8 doesn't rumble... Jello rumbles/wiggles more violently if you sneeze in the same county as it :P

But seriously... glad everyone is okay and it wasn't major at all.
