Default CD stuck in xB Pioneer player - HELP!

I have the Pioneer player (not changer) in my 2004 xB that's already been replaced once because it was skipping CDs. The problem this time is, when I inserted a CD (that I've played lots of times before), the display keeps on flashing "CD IN", but doesn't play the CD, nor am I able to eject it.

Any ideas on how to get that precious CD out without damaging it would be appreciated!

I know on some pioneer aftermarket units you can kill the memory from the unit and hold the eject button while turning on the switch for the first time to eject it. Try that and see if it works.

try pulling all the fuses associated with the radio, wait a min, put em back in and try to eject, or if you can, unplug it from the back wait a min and then try, that usually works with jvc cd players, might work for the stock

Many thanks! I held the eject button and turned on the ignition, and that did it!

Kudos. Now go make a copy of that CD and thumb your nose at the RIAA profusely.

Default The dealer won't let me upgrade.

I'm waiting for a head unit to come in for the same reason, but when I asked if I could upgrade and pay the difference, he said they couldn't do it. He mentioned something about how the dealer accounted for the parts. It sounds like BS to me though.

When you replace your head unit, don't forget to eject the CD that you have in your old one! (like I did!)

hey i have the same problem when i try to eject cds, from time to time they don't come out or they only come out a few mm.

while the eject motor is still running grab another cd and try to GENTLY insert it into the cd slot. sometimes doing that will jostle the cd free. otherwise try to hit the player slightly and see if that helps.

If the noted trick I posted above does not work, check for available warranty.

I guess you could if you wanted to I hope this doesn't happen with mine. I love the stock HU and don't see the need for replacement as of yet.

With my Pioneer am/fm 6 disc changer , I had not 1 but 2 head units replaced by the dealer. The first time it was replaced because you need to be careful as to not place any homemade CD's with stickon labels. Sometimes they peel up a tiny bit, thus it not being able to eject properly, because it maybe was getting caught. The second time, I just think I had a defective new unit. After a month, it wouldn't eject properly and I no longer play any CD"s with label. It's been about 8 month + everything is ok (Knock on wood!). As far as the Dealer, when they get a replacement warranty part, 99% of the time they need to send the broken one back. The other 1% was my bottom black honeycomb plastic grill corner section( it consist of 3 separated pcs.) popped out on the road. My dealer gladly replace that part free, since my vehicle was still under warranty or maybe because I told them my wife had bought a 2005 xA + I was a loyal customer But, then my friend that is another story
