NSPTommy 02-01-2006, 08:32 PM These have the rubber seal right? like the ES ones on the front windows? If so i'll be getting these instead
I'm sorry, but there are no rubber seals.
rebelMan 02-01-2006, 09:40 PM Ok, thanks for the info. These are still nice, i'll watch the thread for other feedback
superfreestyle 02-01-2006, 10:32 PM nice knockoffs.... great price
BigWill184 02-01-2006, 10:37 PM what is the difference between these and the esam vent visors?
NSPTommy 02-01-2006, 11:07 PM edit.
NSPTommy 02-01-2006, 11:07 PM what is the difference between these and the esam vent visors?
The only difference are the clips, rubber seal, and the esam logo. Other than that, everything is pretty much the same and almost half the price cheaper.
OrAnGeBoX 02-02-2006, 01:41 AM Add me to the list and I will pay you when i get paid.
stankubrick 02-02-2006, 01:44 AM What are the clips and rubber seal for?
NSPTommy 02-02-2006, 01:57 AM What are the clips and rubber seal for?
I'm not sure what the rubber seals are for, but the clips are what holds the esam visors in place. The ES are held with double-sided tape, which are very strong and will secure the visors in place.
Regardless of the seals and clips...they are almost identical.

You got it bud! :)

Yes...these are definitely much cheaper and more affordable. Quality of the product is excellent. If you haven't seen the ES visors in person, please refrain from saying the esams are way nicer.
NSPTommy 02-02-2006, 03:09 AM So JuSt DoUbLe StIcK tApE tHeN?
Yep...that's pretty much it! Like I said...the tape will surely secure the visors in place.

superfreestyle 02-02-2006, 02:04 PM the ESAMs are way nicer than these... but for the price these are great.... i would like to see how strong these are in person to compare them to my real ESAMs
Yes...these are definitely much cheaper and more affordable. Quality of the product is excellent. If you haven't seen the ES visors in person, please refrain from saying the esams are way nicer.
all respect but the main concern that i have is the rolled smotthed edges on the ESAMs and it doesnt appear to be this way on the ESs. and i can grab one of my front ESAMs and rock the car back and forth about four inches and just to give you and idea of how serious my suspension is look at my www there are pics of the suspension there and on page 5 there is a list of suspension parts. i would like to see the ES's with rolled and smoothed edges. and the rubber sweep (blade) on the front is very useful in directing wind flow and it is not something that i would want to do without...
i hope to see improvements made on these but the seem to be the best way to go over the esams and the price is killer i commend you guys for making this happen

NSPTommy 02-06-2006, 05:22 PM count me in for a set. how and when do I pay?
Sure thing!
I am currently accepting pre-orders for this special price. Please send paypal payments to tommy@nsptuner.com
Thanks!
superfreestyle 02-06-2006, 09:34 PM ok i am going to pre-order a set but can you give us a more specific release date?
NSPTommy 02-06-2006, 10:27 PM I'm sorry, but the time frame I had mentioned on the main page is as accurate as I can get.
Yellow_Sub 02-10-2006, 07:01 PM well i don't think that the clips are a big deal. i've heard of people only using the double sided tape on their esam's and having no problem. As for the rubber seal that is a big help in air flow that the esam's have an advantage in but it don't see this as a problem that a trip to the local hardware store can't fix. Sooooooo count me in on the group buy too. Should have the money to you in a couple of weeks. Thanks

Anyway, I hope to have it back this week.
dslroxx 03-09-2006, 02:18 AM I am very interested in these but I have a few questions first. I notice that these stick on with tape. I have the Carbon Fiber B-Pillar Appliques and it looks like these will interfer with the proper application of the visors. Am I seeing this correctly? I would hate to have to cut the appliques (or the visors) to make them fit properly.
Does anyone know is the original ESam visor installation interfers with the appliques?
If someone can address my concerns, and there is not a problem with this, please add me to the list and let me know and I'll shoot payment off to you.

Yes, the carbon pillar will interfere with the visors, I have seen someone with this particular pillar and the visors installed. They had to cut the carbon to fit the visors. Either way, it wasn't a bad combination...looked pretty good actually.
Let me know.

NSPTommy 03-28-2006, 06:51 PM Guys....another reminder.
I will be collecting payments in full as of right now. Pricings for all pre-orders are $130 shipped. Once the sun visors are ready and instock, if any are left or available, price for those will be sold for $150 shipped. All orders will be shipped out in the following manner it was received.
For those of you who wants to do local pick up for pre-orders, I can not accept payments by paypal. You can simply send me a USPS money order, or I can have them shipped through paypal payment. The gas prices now a days are outrageous and shipping them may be a better alternative. It is only a suggestion.
For local pick up please PM me. I am located in Orange County, CA. Price for local pick up is $120 for pre-orders & $140 for instock visors.
Unfortunately they are still at customs, I'm terribly sorry.

Keitaro 03-29-2006, 04:55 AM ^
I have the E*Sams. Same design as the ES Window visors but with the rubber stripping on the front visors also cost $100 more :tap: . Back to the wind noise question: No, these visors do not cut down on wind noise. They add wind noise. Same deal with the WeatherTech hood protector (had these a while back). Both items add noise. The noise is not a nuisance but it is noticeable compared to driving the xB without them. I just turn the volume up higher on my stock audio system.

I guess that the downside.
Tommy, I really appreciate it, if this can be replaced with a cleaner one.

Hey sid,
it looks great! why didn't you tell me this before installing the visor. I could have replaced it for you.
Sid_xBicious 04-13-2006, 07:11 PM I got really excited and installed it right away. it was the third piece that I installed(did the passenger side first). I thought it was just a smudge. But after taking the car outside i notice and realise it isn't.
NSPTommy 04-13-2006, 07:39 PM well...i'll be sure to open and inspect every single one before i ship them out then.

Thank you.
MicroVan 04-13-2006, 08:40 PM Hey gcat007: did your visors have the noticeable bubble marks?
Yellow_Sub 04-13-2006, 10:02 PM i'm dying for mine to get here!!! :nails: :nails: :nails:
gcat007 04-13-2006, 11:05 PM Ok. I got mine but had to go take some friends to the airport so all I had time to do was install and fly. However, now I have time to do a small update on them.
First off I am very happy with the product. It's not perfect but it's not complete crap like my old shades (which BTW I went through 2 sets because the driver side got caught and shattered twice on me and in my ear). Needless to say many of you might remember me as the "What kind of visors are those!?" guy when I first got my box and started looking around the many forums. So on to the review.
Check your visors. If you see any imperfections let Tommy know ASAP I'm sure you and him can go from there. I checked mine out because I saw Sid's post and the only thing I saw were a few minor scuffs. Most likely due to handling. Being these are plastic I'm fairly sure the scuffs can be polished out with a plastic buffer. Probably use an acrylic scratch removal kit found in most pet stores in their aquarium section. The stuff works wonders for acrylic tanks it should work on these. Like I said with mine I see no real reason as there are really no noticable imperfections to the naked eye. Even when a good inspection was done.
Here are some shots of mine on my car. I took them after I dropped my friends off at the airport. I am happy with the product. I was worried with the amount of time it took to get here but as a customer I would deal with Tommy again if something I wanted came up again. The visors do beat the $250+ price on the esams and you can not tell the difference at all.

Driving with them is also very nice. Good circulation and the noise level is actually lower than my old ventshades with the window(s) down. I tried just the drivers and every possible combination in between all four.
There is one thing that really bugged me about them though. It is not the fault of Tommy but the way the visors are made and the flimsiness of the windows. If you drive over a bumpy road and the windows are down they will rattle against the visors closest portion. This can be fixed. This might also fix the lip bumping the visor if that is happening at all? Get yourself some black felt cloth and some sticky adhesive. Cut a strip of felt to your liking and adhere it to the part on the visor that is touching the window when it rattles. That's it! Problem solved.
Now one last thing I noticed is my drivers side back catches sometimes. I'm pretty sure this can also be fixed with the felt and maybe a little shaving of the visor giving it more of an angle against the window. This way it may still contact but it will just glide right past.
Good luck everyone and thanks Tommy.
PS- Folks all I've given is my personal review of this product. If you have any issues please contact the seller (Tommy) and work with him. If you decide to use any of my tips please do so at your own risk. I am not a proffesional visor fixer upper and these were all done with the knowledge I may f*ck things up under my own doing.
NSPTommy 04-13-2006, 11:45 PM thank you kindly for the wonderful input.
I did my best to provide great fitting parts. Like from the beginning, I also took the initiative to test the first sample before mass producing.
Of course this is a replica and it won't be 100% perfect.
I'm sure many of you if not all, will be satisfied with this product.

gcat,
I have not put too much thought about it, but I think the tip of the rubber wiper blade might work. I just need a strong rubber to plastic adhesive bond that won't eat the plastic.
what do you think?

I was thinking about all the other things and actually called my mother about this. She does fabric work so I figured why the heck not! We both thought about all sorts of fabric and we're almost certain that any type of ruber or even a soft plastic may catch the class and not let it slide properly. We even called some places about the rubbery part inside the window that has the velevet like fabric on it. Felt or velvet is pretty much our best bet. I'm going to go and check Joannes (local art/fabric place here) for this specific type of felt. The adhesive on the back is really strong and should work.
Ghost_1 04-16-2006, 08:16 PM I don't have these visors. . . yet. . .hee hee. . . but my bro has something from japan like the ESAM Visors for his Camry. As far as I can tell there are about two clips that came with the visors used to keep the visors from touching the glass. I am sure someone can fabricate them. I might try my hand at them once I order the Visors and get them.

Ghost_1 04-17-2006, 02:16 AM I just took a look at my bro's visors on the camry, I thought they were designed close to the ES's but they don't have the part that rubs against the window. BTW Tommy I have sent payment through paypal.

Yellow_Sub 04-17-2006, 05:35 PM ok everyone i got mine on fri and installed them about 3 seconds later. the wheather has been perfect around here to test them this weekend. it was sunny one day and pouring the next. i noticed that the other 2 people put theres right up along the curve of the sill and i moved them down about a half inch leaving a yellow boarder around them. the only problem i had is the same as everyone else. the front two visors clip the window on the way up and rattle when driving around. the left side even rattles when the window is up. but this can be solved easily with a stip of felt or rubber from a local hardware store, which if you read my earlier posts, i was gonna do anyway so it's really no big deal. other than that these thing look great and do what their supposed to do, so a big thanks to Tommy for producing these thing a hell of a lot cheaper than the esam ones.

punksterz626 04-17-2006, 07:15 PM dude, i messed up on mines when i installed it. I accidentally put the rear deflector on the opposite side...oh well, good product tommy.
Ghost_1 04-17-2006, 08:07 PM I was just thinking that you don't need to move the visor too much to keep it from rubbing. I was thinking a heatgun/hairdryer might make the visor just pliable enough to bend it to a place where it wouldn't rub. . . then again do it at your own risk. I figure when I get them I'll have a look at them just to see if there is anything I might be able to do. Although the safest route still seems like the rubber or felt idea.
Sid_xBicious 04-17-2006, 11:57 PM Okay, I did my own solution to the rattle. since our glass window has about 4 mm shaking clearance to the visor, it will hit and make vibration whenever the car moves and specially if you slam the door.
I sandwich a 6mm board between the glass and the visor, then fully closing the window. then I apply heat using a heat gun uniformly and carefully to the edge of the visor. now I have somewhat even 6mm clearance between the glass and the visor, front to end.
No more rattle. even if I slam the door. I could have stop from there, but since I already bought the wiper blade I also glued it inside just to make sure it won't rub.
I used the wedge tip of the wiper blade and used locktite super glue gel for the adhesive.

Sid_xBicious 04-19-2006, 08:22 PM Sid- So basically you just heated up the visor and pushed it out?? Correct?
yes. but i did not exactly pushed it out with my hand, I sandwich a board in between the plexy and the window glass. be carefull on heating it. I did it slowly and patiently so as not to overheat the plexi. like I said, do it on your own risk!
KenzokuXB 04-19-2006, 08:31 PM Yeah I may have to look for another alternative, since I do not carry a heat gun @ home!

Ghost_1 04-25-2006, 02:59 AM I recieved the visors today, I must say for knock offs I am very impressed with the quality. The ventvisors I originally had pale in comparison to the ES visors. Both in style and quality. Install was very easy. I was fotunate enough not to have the same problems as everyone else. they do touch the glass but the windows clear and do not hit the visors. Although I haven't had them on the highway yet. I do drive over really bad roads and I have not heard the vibrations/rattling that everyone has been talking about. It took me longer to take the old ventvisors off then it took me to install the Es visors. Definately happy with the purchase. I look forward to other purchases with Tommy. Thanks Tommy.

I do know that the E'sams have the clips, and Tommys don't. But both use 3m tape as well.
Any comments would be great.

its worth every penny, you really have to see it in person. theres a little flaw on how it touches the window glass(on some) but its easily fixed.

NSPTommy 05-09-2006, 11:07 PM no problem and thank you for your purchase!
gizmoviki73 05-10-2006, 05:58 PM Hope there's still some left, almost have all the $$$. I'm buying these on my own, hubby keeps buying other things for my xB, but I want these BAD!!! Any problems w/ those little metal tabs on front doors? I bought VentVisors, but since mine is a '06, they didn't fit because of those stoopid tabs, then I broke one visor. This is the longest I've been w/out "visors" on any vehicle I've owned. And water pours in good on front doors on these darn xB's, lol.
NSPTommy 05-10-2006, 06:19 PM yes, there are plenty left.

no, there's no interference from the tabs...these affix to the outside, and go down the front of the door frame about an inch from the mirror. they are awesome, super heavy duty (thick) plasic, and DARK...
I love mine. thanks tommy!
gizmoviki73 06-12-2006, 09:45 PM Still selling? Saw someone else on board had same thing, but $25 more shipped.
Viki
KenzokuXB 06-14-2006, 07:45 AM Tommy, you still have them for $150???
MicroVan 06-21-2006, 01:10 AM Tommy,
what is the best cleaner to use to prep the door before install? I got mine like a while ago and just now got the chance to install them.
If you guys who purchased a set have any suggestions, it would greatly help! Anyone have any problems with these? has any felll off your box?
Thanks.
NSPTommy 06-21-2006, 07:31 AM I wouldn't recommend alcohol, so that's a no no.
You can use meguir's detailer with a clean terry cloth and you should be fine. The first set I test fitted has yet to come off so they are on pretty solid. You shouldn't worry.
I suggest when putting them on...do it in the evening to let the visors sit and secure properly. Just to be safe.
NSPTommy 06-21-2006, 07:32 AM SORRY GUYS...VISORS ARE NO LONGER $150 SHIPPED...PRICE IS $175 SHIPPED.
NSPTommy 06-21-2006, 07:38 AM I also offer xb sun visors for wholesale dealers...please pm me for pricing and requirement.

Man I wanted these on ever since I received it from you back in early May? All my free time was exhausted to Due to Baby Duty, she is now 6 months old and I am starting to get some free time to put these on.
Any other prep work? should I heat up the tape prior to adhering it to the door? any suggestions on the positioning?
Also, I have a set of CF pillar applique I want to install, what should I do in this case? I know the visors will occupy the upper part of the door pillars, so i waited to install them at the same time.
Thanks.
Jim
NSPTommy 06-21-2006, 06:49 PM congrats on your new born!! taking care of a baby isn't something easy. ;)
No other prep work is required for install. For the cf pillar, you will probably have to cut the top portion off because they will come in contact.
Good luck Jim!
NSPTommy 06-23-2006, 01:14 AM BUMP!

you must have kids :P My whole life changed. no more me, it's all about her now. Thanks for the tips. Got them on in a snap. didn't want to be quick so I took my time. turned out pretty darn good.
I do have that rubbing against the window problem. any fix to that i missed? Other than that, I will take some pics tomorrow and post them.
Thanks again!
Looney 06-23-2006, 05:40 AM go to home depot, or the garage, and get a small peice of 1-2-3 mm wide wood. slide it under the visor, wedge it in there tight, and get your wifes hair dryer. Heat up the lower edge on the board slowly and for a while. you arent going to melt it unless she has a promax1000 dryer. let it cool and remove board. wait a few days, rinse repeat until u get the distance u want.

hmmm, sounds logical. will have to try that :) I am experiencing that rattle as others have also mentioned when the windows are cracked. But it still looks good on my box :) hopefully your method will fix all. I will post some pics of the visors installed on my ride.
MicroVan 06-27-2006, 03:37 PM here are some pics. Hope you guys likes it.

NSPTommy 06-28-2006, 01:21 AM Price is $115 shipped., but there must be 10 buyers minimum to honor this price. payment must be promptly made as soon as I get 10 buyers. This will be an on going thing every week. The price will increase by $5 every week after that. Minimum of 10 buyers are requred!
aireck 06-28-2006, 05:54 AM so how do we know when all 10 have paid...???
do we have to wait to get 10 people??
what if i have the cash and want them asap... do i have to wait?
surfcitylocal 06-28-2006, 06:54 AM I have the same questions...how do we know when there are 10 peeps buying and if 10 peeps don't buy in a given week, what's the price?
KenzokuXB 06-28-2006, 07:11 AM Alrite just put it this way. If you two have the cash in hand and send to Tommy then there goes three, cause I also have cash in hand.
I wasn't felling the $175 price tag with the issue people were having with it rattling against the window (which i read was an easy fix anyways!). But for $115 I'm all over it.
If the two poster's above me are true to there word, count me in as number three. All we need is 7 more!
Spider13 06-28-2006, 11:01 AM I'll be number 4 for 115. So add me to the list please.
evosky 06-28-2006, 03:15 PM these are esam right ? i would be interested ...
Boxer_Rebellion 06-28-2006, 03:34 PM I'll be number 5 on the $115 list...
evosky 06-28-2006, 03:56 PM count me in as number 6 on the $115 list
CamoTrav 06-28-2006, 04:09 PM these are esam right ? i would be interested ...
Sort of....
Tommmy or whomever has these. How bad is this rattle. How many people have had it? Did you just install it wrong? I've had others put these on and they didn't have any rattle or intereference with the window. I'm interested in getting these for this price, but I don't want something that rattles...or takes some labor to fix.
So I guess you can count me as seven if my questions are answered.
dekthai 06-28-2006, 05:27 PM these are esam right ? i would be interested ...
these are replicas which are almost the same but don't have the clips. buy with confidence, tommy is a great seller just a bad dresser :lalala: :P
Looney 06-28-2006, 05:54 PM there is no labor involved. one of mine is a millimeter or so too close. Using the hairdryer for 20 minutes to 'bend' the hard edge (an unnoticable amount) fixed it up. That 20 minutes certainly did not cost me 100 more for the real esam
KenzokuXB 06-28-2006, 08:19 PM Tommy, PM with you paypal info! I'm all over this $115 price tag!

KenzokuXB 06-28-2006, 08:21 PM One more thing Tommy, if i send you the money now will they ship asap??? Or do I have to wait till the ten orders are filled???
