Default 2 different carwashs + they want to charge me truck price

I live in NJ. Would you believe this? One was a hand car wash + I told them to call the cops, cause my XB is not a truck + I wasn't paying the extra dollar. They let me go + told me not to come back. Another was a auto car wash. Only because the boss wasn't there the guy only charged me the regular car price. These were not the regular car wash places I go to. Has anybody had this experience?

ok, i work at a car wash, so here goes. we have three categories, A, B, and C. A consists of cars and single car pickups. B consists of SUVs, minivans, station wagons, and extended cab pickups. C consists of 4-door pickups, full size vans, and the bigger SUVs (hummers, expeditions, tahoes, sequoias, etc.) the xB is a wagon, so it falls under station wagon (B). hope i helped.

Same thing happened to me this past summer. The big a$$ Cadillac in front of my xB was paying $2 less cause it was a "car". They wanted to charge me more. I said my vehicle is a tall car, not a wagon. Of course I ended up leaving ____ed off...

Same thing happen to me. I just assumed it was due to all the custom stuff on my ride. I have since not return to that place.

Unless you are disabled, do it yourself. No one is that busy, the time you spend sitting in front of the tv you could wash your car correctly.

Like someone wise once said, "No one is going to take as much pride into your own car as yourself."

I usually do it myself since I have every Meguiars NXT product on the market, but when I do go I don't get charged since my sister works there!
I get like $25 car washes for free.
But I do get the slip, and they mark it down as a car

this is one thing i've complained about on here before.
my car is waaay smaller than most (previously mentioned) luxury cars and most small pick-up trucks. it sucks to have to pay that much for a car-wash.
i do wash my own car when i can, but here in WV, we have to turn our home water-line that goes to our hose off in the winter, or else it will freeze! so i HATE the winter months for that reason!

Its not a truck, but I think I'd have to take the car wash's side in this dispute. Washing the xB is a heck of a lot more work than washing a tC for instance. And I know that first hand because I own one of each, and while I don't wash them myself every time, I have washed them myself by hand a couple times. It takes almost twice as long to do the xB as the tC, and its a heck of a lot harder to keep water spots from forming on it too.

For a machine place it doesn't really make sense that any truck is charged more, but if you don't like a particular business's prices, don't spend your money there!

well, we also dry it, and a truck is more to dry than a car. and doing windows. the xB has more windows to do.

my problem with car washes...

the xB is so short, that the automatics around here don't get the back of my box clean. We have a really good touchless here that uses fresh water, so once in a while, I'll buzz through there. But it never fails that when I pull out to dry it, the back is still dirty because the wash is set up for longer cars, pickups, SUVs etc, so the sprayer goes a good 6 ft past the rear of the box.

Car wash ??? What's that LOL I'm the only one to touch my paint. Besides the factory paint is way too soft for a carwash. It would get all scratched up the very first time.

BOYCOTT!

Or girlcott; personcott; whatever.

DON'T take your xB to ANY carwash! WE WILL PREVAIL!!

Besides, it's better for you, better for your car, better for everyone if you wash your own xB at home with nice soft warm sudsy water. Just say no to carwashes!
