Question for all you guys that are fortunate enough to already have the supercharger. I'm picking up my FM TC tommorow and I have been contemplating getting the SC, what I want to know is should you break the engine in before I put it on lets say about 3k miles or so.
Also can I get some honest feed back and reviews on the SC, and please a little more than "it's freakin awesome" :D
Thanks for you feedback

1. search
2. this needs to be move to force induction
3. follow engine break in by owners manual.

my 2 cents: break the car in first. That should be done regardless of any mods you may do in the future. As for the sc: we are happy with it's addition on the wife's car. Her TC is a daily driver, maybe 15-17k per year. Warranty was very important to us, so the TRD piece was the direction we took compared to the aftermarket turbos out there ( no knock to those at all ). The sc is a strong add-on, especially 3700-5500 range. It seems to have some decent untapped potential as well--search the site and you'll find plenty running different bpv's, pulleys, etc that improve responsiveness & hp ( though for now at least at the threat of warranty loss ).
The car pulls strong, only has dropped the mpg for us maybe by 2 ( they include bigger injectors in the kit; plus sometimes spirited driving ).
We are considering some of the other sc mods at some point--time determined by if TRD comes out with anything, or we wait a couple years until factory warranty is about done. Last point--have the dealer install it--if not you only get 1 year warranty.... and if that's the case you may as well go turbo.
Hope that helps some.

i love the supercharger-it was pretty good by itself, but i also added a creative compacts catback, the forge 007 diverter valve, and i have a sc pulley on order. i was dumb though-i shoulda installed a header before i had the supercharger done. once an intake becomes available for it, that'll help as well. other than that, the sc is friggin great.

Get the s/c from mcgeorge or trdsparks for 2975 shipped. And although I haven't done it yet myself, millenium toyota had labor at $700. That'd be $3700 total price. not too bad.

who says you gotta buy from them? I just said they had the cheapest install rate, and even if they do screw it up, you can always go back to any other dealer for the warranty work. Westbury scion had labor for $800, Penn & atlantic scion both were around $750. Not really too much of a difference, and all of them will install the s/c even if you don't purchase it through them. Definitely get the part itself from trdsparks and save a few hundred bucks (plus if you get it through your dealer, you're not only paying retail, you also gotta pay tax.
