Default Just test drove a tC...

I must say it was a nice ride. They even had the color I wanted. The salesperson I was suppose to talk to wasnt there and I had to deal with this other salesman who wasnt too bright. Asked about colors, and he said the red was popular and he showed me a car that belonged to an associate and it was a release series 1.0. I cant get that color why would he show that to me? Needless to say I declined to put 500 down as a deposit on the car to save it for me. I really like the car but the salesman wasnt the sharpest knife in the drawer. Anyways I think I will get one, just not from him. Oh and a question...when i was done driving i smelled this burning smell is that normal? The car had 0 miles to start with so maybe thats why. Any ideas?

A lot of times, when cars are fresh off of the truck, you are probably smelling the stickers burning off of the exhaust system when it gets hot.....perfectly normal.

that smell you are smelling is probably the coating on the engine, youll smell it for around the first 1000 miles. some people on this site even smell that weird smell all the time. its nothing to worry about at all.

I put down $500 on mine. Deposit to hold the vehicle is different than the down payment. Some dealerships recommend $100, some $500.

That's why I don't bank with Ye Old Bank anymore. I use Bank of America. I can do the transfer over the phone.

Not sure how your dealer does it, but you dont have to lay down the $500. Mine asked for a check for $500. They make sure it is good and hold it. If you back out after they have ordered or held your car they cash it. If not they hand it back to you.

i didn't have to make a down payment either. but they did want a $300 check to hold my car for me. (but I would have gotten it back if i changed my mind)

but yea odd smells are normal for a new car.

not everyone has these rattles. and some that do they arent loud at all
you should have been in my car when i drove the 100 miles to and from waco with no radio on. if my tC was ever going to rattle it would have done it then.

your always posting about how bad the tC is. get rid of it already.

Lucky husband...
No down payment here either. I just signed on the line.
On the second one, the FM, I had to order it in. There were no more left in GA. Had to come from FL. They called me when it got in. I went and signed again...No deposit needed.
They said if I didn't buy it, they knew someone would. Not a problem.
