XBman 05-05-2004, 03:00 PM yeah well thats where scion started, California bBted 05-05-2004, 03:01 PM agreed!!! its harder to see camo on the street.... Pulse 05-05-2004, 03:01 PM I know there were 6 or 7 slated for Savannah. So far only two were sold. Other then mine I've only seen 2, one at Drift Atlanta (Kenny's car, I believe. He's a member here.) and one from Rome Georgia that was traveling through here last weekend. FinalStageScion 05-05-2004, 05:42 PM same problem here in miami, they are running around everywhere.....you rarely see any of the other colors other than silver. Yoshi 05-05-2004, 05:47 PM agreed!!! its harder to see camo on the street.... Yes it is, and I hope it stays that way. LONG LIVE CAMO!! scionspecialistvegas 05-05-2004, 05:49 PM I think we have more hot lava's in vegas than polar whites JDMxB 05-05-2004, 06:32 PM The funny part is--it's not even in very high demand...it seems like if you want a Lava, there is zero problem getting one! I know there are a few at Longo, as I saw them with my own eyes the other day. its_ikon 05-05-2004, 07:29 PM the orange scion is only going to be sold for a short time and after that all the other colors will continue to be sold and then out number the rs1's that were sold. k0an 05-05-2004, 07:35 PM It's not to hard to get an Automatic RS1 but you have to be VERY PERSISTENT to get a 5-speed RS1. I called every dealer in Northern California and had to drive 3 hours to get mine. IAxB 05-05-2004, 07:45 PM There is some speculation that by the June release hear in the Midwest all the Hot Lavas will be gone  It will be interesting to see if thats true. DJ_X_Trodinaire 05-05-2004, 08:20 PM they should have held on to the Lava until the entire US has been served with the regular xB :? mgmlot93 05-05-2004, 08:43 PM I hope there aren't any left for IA or NE in June. I would like to think I drove 7 hours to get one for a reason. jeffrgunn23 05-05-2004, 08:58 PM Very true! I see more Orange and they really have not been that difficult to get. I know alot of them went to Cali and Texas, I wonder how many have gone to some of the smaller states. Indy007 05-05-2004, 09:04 PM had a meet last weekend here in tx. 20 xb's showed up. 9 were lava. iamslow 05-05-2004, 09:43 PM #2100 is in the states so if they were building them in order then there all done. I know mine was headed for NY originaly and I got lucky Koons got it instead. Theres a demand for orange ones right now and thats why you see them, theres a lot less demand for the ATX tho. Give it a year. WagenMaster 05-05-2004, 09:51 PM I think we have more hot lava's in vegas than polar whites I know of only 2 other Hot Lavas, but have not seen them. I have seen 6 different Polar Whites, but do not know how many there might be. Either way, after June Hot Lava will be few and far between... ProjectFusion 05-05-2004, 09:52 PM Man I'm glad I didn't get the Lave color. I can proudly say I'm the only owner of the "out of the blue" colored scion. mmintegra 05-05-2004, 09:59 PM Jaffarian Toyota in Haverhill, MA has 3 Lavas, 2 camos and a bunch of other colors just sitting on the lot waiting to be bought CBSIMONSEZ 05-05-2004, 10:57 PM Wow, lucky me, not only have i NOT seen another Hot Lava here in my area ( other then the dealer JAScion, who bought one from his dealership ) but i dont see any Scions at all. Everyone is still perplexed about my Scion, where to get it, what is it, and just  stares in general. Its nice to have all the attention, but it does get tiresome too. fr130 05-05-2004, 11:11 PM Hot Lava is a very unique color. Its better than the other orange cars out there. Including the Element, Vive, Murano, Mustang(yeah, I saw an orange Mustang), and many others. jennay 05-05-2004, 11:13 PM Wow, lucky me, not only have i NOT seen another Hot Lava here in my area ( other then the dealer JAScion, who bought one from his dealership ) but i dont see any Scions at all. Yeah, cept its 50K cheaper .... zoom1487 05-06-2004, 01:00 AM Hi, I've been lurking here for a few weeks, I'm in central NY, while picking up my TCM last week I saw that the dealership had a couple of hot lava's in. Glad that I got the TCM, but the hot lava is sweet. DenZinz 05-06-2004, 01:16 AM I saw 2 HL's within 1 mile of each other when I was driving in LB going the opposite direction. XBman 05-06-2004, 01:35 AM i know someone with # 25 here in ca iamslow 05-06-2004, 01:46 AM i was cruising and saw one on the way to edgewater up here, and car toys has like 4 of them so i've seen a lot, and then today i saw one with a guy driving it had grey/green dots graphics on the side :| JASciON 05-06-2004, 02:46 AM Wow, lucky me, not only have i NOT seen another Hot Lava here in my area ( other then the dealer JAScion, who bought one from his dealership ) but i dont see any Scions at all. Everyone is still perplexed about my Scion, where to get it, what is it, and just  stares in general. Its nice to have all the attention, but it does get tiresome too. It seems to me now that there's like a million in this state after going to the VIP event this past sunday. There were more RS1's there than any color i'm sure. I know of 4 in the area not including mine. But 3 of them were sold from my store. Well 4 if you include mine. Anyway I love mine and like that dude said After they've been out a while then they will feel more like a limited. windowtint 05-06-2004, 03:11 AM I think RS's will start to APPEAR to more "rare" as time passes and more of the other colors are sold - as someone's already mentioned. In Mobile (AL), I know of at least seven RS's - maybe more. Both Scion dealers here have sold 3 each that I know of and I brought mine down from Tuscaloosa up north making a 7th. I just saw a silver (TCM?) xB on my way home - he did everything he could to fight traffic and catch up with me - watched him in the mirror for a good while - finally caught up and honked ... it's like being in a cult. I've seen a dark blue xB (which also honked at me...) - other than that, the only xB's I've seen off a dealer lot are the RS's. fr130 05-06-2004, 03:14 AM i was cruising and saw one on the way to edgewater up here, and car toys has like 4 of them so i've seen a lot, and then today i saw one with a guy driving it had grey/green dots graphics on the side :| Did that Hot Lava by Edgewater have the two "X" graphics from Scion? I saw one by Owings Mills Mall. It was black "X"'s. dexbrs1nks 05-06-2004, 03:21 AM I hope there aren't any left for IA or NE in June. I would like to think I drove 7 hours to get one for a reason. Me too, I drove to OK city to get mine, I talked to the lady who sold me mine, she said they got a total of three, one to me and someone from Iowa, I think the other one sold locally, she did not think they would get anymore. sciongrrl20 05-06-2004, 04:00 AM here in phoenix, arizona there is only one scion that ive seen.....and i drive freakin everywhere!! and it was black.....so im guessing not too many people here will have the RS....im tryin to get one from texas right now! DenZinz 05-06-2004, 04:09 AM i know someone with # 25 here in ca Gary from Scion Evolution has #0002 JanusFive 05-06-2004, 04:48 PM There are at least 4 different ones in Charlotte, NC. H8_2LUZ 05-06-2004, 08:33 PM Well if they were distributed evenly across the lower 48 states each state would have gotten 43.75 Hot lavas. Im assuming CALI got a bunch of them and each state is getting whats left as scion comes across the US. I know that when I was looking for mine the port in NY had like 7 waiting to be picked up but all had been accounted for. And of course the bigger producing dealers are gonna get more because they have more pull. SO if you live in an area that has some SERIOUS toyota dealers or where there is a bunch of dealerships you'll see more hot lava scions than lets say Nowheresville. Some of the other guys have good points too, you're only gonna see this color for one year and then no more. Some other colors are hard to get too, like CAMO which i think is a very cool color. And scion will produce the colors that they think the most people will buy. Who knows maybe CAMO wont sell well and they'll drop the color in the next year or so and the CAMO will become a sought after color and be a "collectors item" WagenMaster 05-06-2004, 09:05 PM I had a little bit of a hard time deciding between Camo and Hot Lava myself. Camo is definitely the best color of the 6 normally available IMO. But with all the extras thrown in and the "limited" numbers of the RS1, I had to get it. OrangeScionC21 05-07-2004, 03:51 AM Wow, lucky me, not only have i NOT seen another Hot Lava here in my area ( other then the dealer JAScion, who bought one from his dealership ) but i dont see any Scions at all. I Have never seen another Hot Lava. Only 4 have been sold with in about an hour or two of me. The coolest thing is people are willing to pay $$$ for them. After I had picked mine up a guy was picking up his, right as he got there a guy came in and offered him $2,000 OVER what the guy was paying for his. Oddly enough, the guy didn't take it. On top of that, since it was 3rd week in March, he ordered one and got it, for regular price. Best thing yet is that a local Toyota Dealer that passed on the Scion brand the first time, bought in late and will get their dealership in June; They offered me $16,500 for mine, w/ 4500 miles on it. Dealer Cost is just 15,000 w/ all the options I got! On the Mercedes issue, I could actually make people believe that, The dealer I bought my scion at Sells Toyota Oldsmobile and Mercedes Benz, Thus their Logo has the MB Logo on the car! TheScionicMan 05-07-2004, 04:29 AM Hey orangescionc21, you got a cool number. Does your Box party like its 1999? OrangeScionC21 05-07-2004, 06:27 PM Hey orangescionc21, you got a cool number. Does your Box party like its 1999? It sure does. But not only b/c the of awesome stereo  0rangeXB 05-07-2004, 06:57 PM Why so many Hot Lava xB's? Let's do the math... Toyota sold 7000 xB's in the U.S. in 2003 and 11,500 xB's through April 30th, 2004, which makes 18,500 xB's in the U.S. to date. Here is a link for the Scion sales figures which I have double-checked as accurate, as reported by Toyota. http://www.scionzone.com/html/press/sales/2004-05.shtml If all 2100 orange cars have sold (which would mean most orange units possible on the road), then just over 11% of all the xB's on the road are orange. The other six colors (purple, black, blue, green, white and silver) would make up the remaining 16,400 xB's on the road. If all colors have sold at an even pace, then each color would represent just under 15% of all xB's on the road. This would mean about 2700 of each non-orange color are on the road. Therefore, if we compare colors today, 11 of 100 cars on the road are orange, while 15 of 100 cars are each of the other colors (again, assuming the other colors have sold evenly). So today, orange is not that rare. However, since Scion will be selling 4000+ xB's each month from now on (3,825 sold in April), and no more orange units will be available (we hope!), the percentage of orange on the road will decrease. In fact, at this rate orange would represent 9% of the xB's on the road after May sales, 8% after June sales, and only 4% by January 2005. Your Hot Lava becomes more rare as you drive it! Of course, the other reason we see the Hot Lava xB's is because orange is unique and bright, how many dark-colored xB's have we not seen? Bottom line, if you want a rare car buy a Toyota MR2 Spyder, only about 300 are sold per month! See this link for more Toyota sales information. http://pressroom.toyota.com/photo_library/display_release.html?id=20040503 Anyway, no matter how many there are, nothing beats driving an orange car. I love my Hot Lava xB. Enjoy. Ed A. cliffy1 05-07-2004, 07:02 PM We sold our last one yesterday. I think we ended up with 11 or 12 of them total. Two of them are not here yet but have been pre-sold. I'll miss them. They were an easy sale. jeffrgunn23 05-07-2004, 08:02 PM Hey sciongirl, where in Texas are you trying to get yours. I have one still available here in Houston if your interested. rogcjms 05-09-2004, 08:02 PM I've seen 1 here on Albuquerque, NM. they must of went to tx, or cali to get it cuz we dont get em til June, I probably doubt we will get any lava's here. There's a total of 3 scions here in Albuquerque, a white, silver, and lava. mgmlot93 05-09-2004, 11:12 PM Sciongrrl, I'll be in Phoenix next week. Maybe you'll spot the lava rollin around. I'll probably swing by the McDonalds car show Saturday night (5/15) if your around stop by. superjeer 05-10-2004, 12:12 AM Hi, I've been lurking here for a few weeks, I'm in central NY, while picking up my TCM last week I saw that the dealership had a couple of hot lava's in. Zooom, close by? xB_ey 05-10-2004, 03:47 AM ...i feel like ive seen all 2100 of them... ...if they made 2100 of the orange...get the camo...seems like they only made 210 of those... S22K1 05-10-2004, 04:10 AM Well, they don't sell Scion's here in Utah yet, but I have seen 1 Hot Lava and it looked sweet. I've only seen 3 xB's all together. |
