I am a little confused as to how offset works, is a 42mm offset going to have more of a lip and be more flush to the car than a 30mm offset or vice versa.

My main concern is I am looking for some need wheels now and I want to make sure they do not end up looking set inside the wheelwell and would like them to be flush with the wheelwell like the pic in this thread:

So I am not sure 1) which size wheel and offset I should be looking at want a nice 18 inch wheel not sure if I would need to get 18x8 atleast and if there would be any issues with them and 2) any clue what suspension setup that xB is running it looks sweet as hell and I have the tein s-techs here but doubt they will give me that look; maybe golines or df210s?

Lower offset (+30) will be more flush and likely have a larger lip. Hovever, offset and lip are not directly related in many cases. You must check the manufacturer charts to see what lip corresponds to specific offsets and widths.

Hey thanks alot for the info, do you know of any brands that offer the lower offset wheels? I have been looking at Exel, ADR, RH and a few others and all seem to be 42-45 regardless so which one I look at.

The problem is that numerically higher offsets are standard practice on FWD cars while RWD cars are typically lower. I dont know of any RWD cars in 4x100mm but i do see a whole lot of civics.

In order to find the right wheels you're going to have to look harder and most likey beyond the US borders. You'll find the right offsets in japanese and european markets.
