Default Suspension Help please.

Alright I am kind of tornbetween different suspension set ups. I am looking to improve the handling greatly in the car for street use. While I will be autocrossing I am no where neear a point of getting some insane suspension setup. Basicly as far as I see my choices are trd shocks plus spring or progress coilovers. Now the reason Iam wonderign which is better is I dont know how stiff the trd shocks and spring are?

Would I be good off buying the progressive co and just running them on like 1.5 inch drop and also Iam not sure if they can be adjusting for dampening for that money it seems liek they are. BTW I cant go over 1.5 inch is because the roads where I live are terrible I know my car will be scratched if I go lower.

Would the trd shocks and springs be suffient enough for daily driving and occasional track use? Are they stiff enough:? or is it just played down shocks which arent stiff at all?

Also I dont just ok handling I want great handling for the street. Something that other sports coupes have kind of liek the new si and evos and stuff or as close to that as possible if that is possible for reference?

If youre looking for an all out handling package your first improvement should be front and rear sway bars. Hotckhis has been a well balanced and nicely adjustable setup. Crank up the tension on the rear and reduce pushing, but you might sacrifice a little stability in the rain so some time is needed for fine tuning.

For springs/struts/shocks the best handling packages have been the full coilover setups. H&R and I'm pretty sure progress have setups that work well. If you get adjustable coilovers and intend to track them, corner balance and make sure you have your shop adjust the camber slightly more aggressive for best grip when cornering vs tire life. A touch of negative camber can help stick a corner.

The first comment doesn't really hold. Tires. Tires. Tires. Tires should be your first handling mod. Then a rear sway bar. The front doesn't offer enough of a reward in autox for a FWD car.

Corner balancing and toe/camber adjustment is true though.

Your choice will also depend on what class you want to run in. Shocks and a RSB only will let you stay Stock. Anything more puts youinto somewhere else...CO's get you to STS.

I am not really worried about autocross this is more for the street. I want handling that other sports coupes have. For example what would I have to do to get evos and stis handling or something close to that? I know about tires, they are going on the car as soon as winter ends.
