Default 2004 xA trying to hardwire my iPod

I've searched the forums, but most posts are from tC owners who already have the proper head unit to just plug and play with their iPod.

I'm looking for the best-sounding, cleanest kit or accessory I can put into my xA so my iPod sounds clearer than just with the iTrip or any other FM accessory.

What's out there and what are people using? I COULD replace the factory stereo with an aftermarket that has AUX plugs, but that's a bit of overkill I think.

Help.

Thanks.

Jeff

Default Maybe a stereo

Not to convolute this, but has anyone gone the route of getting a new stereo (JVC and Pioneer both make iPod 'ready' units)?

BUT, the JVC requires a $100 adapter (which if I had the money, I'd just buy the $100+ adapter for the existing stereo) and the Pioneer is abour $300 even though it comes ready to go.

Thanks,

Jeff
