Default Problems with my OEM fog lights [xB]

i have OEM fog lights on my xB and i installed luminics amber bulbs. they were fine for about a month. then one side went out. i thought that maybe luminics sells a crappy product. so i removed the wheel well plastic and attempted to take out the light. but as i did that, the fog light bulb magically worked. so it wasn't the bulb afterall [ to luminics for making a quality bulb, but for toyota for making a crappy harness]

it seems that if i wiggle around the harness the lights work. but everytime i think i fixed it, and put everything back together again, the vibration from me installing the wheel well plastic makes the bulb not work.

my question is, has anyone else had this problem? or am i the only one to receive a crappy fog light kit. if i'm not the only one, what was everyone's solution? should i just tape up the plug and bulb to prevent the wires from moving? i'm out of options and i'm kinda upset over it. thanks in advance for any help.

Exact same thing happened to me. I kick my bumper and it comes back on. The harness is going bad, the bulbs take to much power for the harness to handle.

so it's the bulbs that made it go bad? because it only happened after i bought the luminics.

You have a cracked or unsealed fog light. You need to replace it.

As for the others, I second the question, does this happen with OEM bulbs? If so, take it in for warranty work.

Our club President, Roy, runs the JDM yellow Luminics bulbs both in his fogs and headlamps with no problems. He's had them in since late last summer. I don't think it's a widespread problem.

I had luminics in my fogs for just over a month before one went out.

My other bulbs work fine in there. No problems. I blame the bulbs. Some people say they fry your harness.

Not dissing Luminics, but hey, I tried 'em, they died, I'm back to my old bulbs. No problems since.

Luminics bulbs do fry the harness. I had hyper whites in my fogs and they worked fine for a few months. One side stopped working. I bought JDM yellows, installed them, they worked right after I installed them, and now neither side works. I inspected the harness and the plastic had melted away from the metal connections. I'm going to buy heavier duty harnesses and wire in a relay to the battery. I'm not switching back to stock bulbs.

Does anyone have any detailed instructions on how to change the OEM Toyota factory fog lights bulbs? I have purchased some JDM Polarg Yellows. I know they will be cool and look very Japanese. I just can't figure how to get to the back of the lamp and pull the original bulbs out. ANY HELP ANYONE HAS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

my men I have the same problem but is in the tC
I think is toyota is making crap conectors because my tC is 4000 miles old
and I replace the bulbs with hipper white and one goes... touch the cable and presto
they come back but I need to do that like 1,000,548,264 times a day
my friend have a Matrix with the same problem and in the shop I work
I fixed like 3 corollas with that problem so for me is the harness

It's not a defect, if you use the stock bulbs they won't fry. It's an aftermarket bulb problem. The solution is a new, heavier duty harness that connects to the battery.

you can just buy the pig tail or whatever it's called and a couple wires right? should be about 21 dollars or so. also, stick to stock bulbs or upgrade your harness...
