Default xB Sunroof?

I have been seeing a couple xB's with sunroofs and i really really want one. i wanted to know if anyone on here has one, and about how much it cost.
Or if you wish you didnt do it or anything because you dont like it now or something or there are now problems. I just want to know how you like it,

It depends who you go with, when I sell a sunroof it comes with a warranty that covers leaks. The only one that will not be covered is the largest one and that's only if you take you car into a car-wash with high velocity jets of water.

At my dealer I have about 3 major ones that I sell they range from 799 installed (no power) to 2000 installed for the big guy.

I am really happy with my canvas sunroof. It's made by Webasto and is VERY high quality. It's a couple layers thick with insulation in it and it is also power.

If you google Webasto you can get their website and once there you can look up installers.

My sunroof was $1400 installed.

Just get one from Webasto. They cover their lids for the life of the vehicle against all leaking. Thats a stronger warranty then you get with a factory lid. We install them in our Scions and everybody loves them a lot. I will be installing one in my xB very shortly.

Why does everyone say sunroofs leak!! thats a horror story. I have done many sunroofs and never had a leak the guys Ive worked with have done hundreds and have never had a leak. Its all in the quality of the install.

You only get leaks when you put an imporper sunroof into a car. Such as a curvers sunroof on a flat roof.

My only regret with mine is that I didnt put in a ragtop.

Thanks for the info guys. how do you guys like the canvas top thing compared to like a glass one. im sure the glass ones are more expensive. i just remember when i went to the Knotts Berry Farm Scion night (for those who live in SoCal) i seen a couple Scions that had the sunroofs and i really liked it. i wish Scion had the option when you buy it for sunroofs.

Scion does have the option to get sunroofs when you buy them. My Webasto canvas roof was installed at the dealer and financed with my car. It's also covered under my Toyota warranty.

Thats exactly why I did it. I am going for an old skool euro feel with my box.

One the note of leaks......
The canvas roff DOES leak, but only when you take the car through a touch-free car wash and jets of water are hitting the car sideways. Water can shoot into the sunroof a little.

My canvas sunroof NEVER leaks from what mother nature dishes out, only what man-made car washes dish out. The easy solution is I wash it by hand.

Scion does not have that option from the factory, your dealer does.

bump for good info but what is the deal with sliding rag tops why does everyone like them so much? I personally would want something that someone couldn't just jump through and bogart my ISH.

I also have the Webasto and it is amazing. It has 2 memory buttons that will automatically put your sunroof into any position you want (back flipped up or only half open) it never leaks and self closes. You couldn't ask for anything more.

My Scion dealer in Raleigh, NC said that if they were to do the sunroof it would be about 1200 dollars. He also said that if it is done by Scion (Toyota) dealers that the sunroof would have the same warranties as covered by the car.
He also said if I had the Extended warranty that it would be covered even longer. This was a power glass one with an inside shade like the tC's for the hot days in the summer.

Don't forget, it only takes an elbow bump to the rear wing window and they are in quicker than going over the top. If you think locking the doors on your car somehow secures it, think again... A ragtop isn't really going to make it easier, IMO.
