Default Trouble with my xB RS2.0 exhaust.

Ok so my exhaust tip fell off my xB RS2.0 It was the special edition DC Sports Axel back exhaust. I heard a rattle a few days ago and just thought it was the license plate frame so I checked it and tightened the screws on that. Looked at the silencer in the tip tightened that. Still heard the noise. Then Last night on my way home thought my exhaust was sounding a lot louder. So when I got home I looked and the tip was gone . WTF. So I drove it strait to the dealer that is across the street from my house this morning. The service advisor looked at it and said it might have been stolen, I said no I think it fell off cause the exhaust wasn't bent or tweaked from someone trying to break it off. So I have and appointment tomorrow to get it looked at. This better be under warranty.. I have to go home and look through my warranty tonight I got the 100,000 mile one so I should be fine.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Mine was loose when I got it. Rattled like mad until I tightened it.

Nope, but the rattle does suck till you crank it down a bit. Do you have the other tip that should have come with your xB? I have two sizes, neither of which I use.

So I just got back from the dealer. The guy had a blank look on his face for most of the time asking what happened. Then he was trying to say its a custom exhaust that I put on. So I made him look up my info and he saw that it is a custom exhaust that came with the car. So after that little bit of stress of dealing with him. They looked at it again ordered the part and I should be able to get it put back on one day this week. It still under warranty to so that's nice.

Dont you love it when you have to tell them about their own items? That is one of my pet peeves.

Serious.. and if you don't know thats not a problem they have lots of cars and stuff they deal with. I would just like them to at least go log in to the computer and look at my information before they go telling me what my car came with and what I installed.

So, I have been in to the dealer 4 or 5 times with this problem. Telling them that the part is not a bolt on part. Now they finally believe me. They ordered a whole new axel back exhaust for my car.. It better have the badge on the side of the exhaust or I am going to flip. My car is just annoying with out the tip and silencer. They kept ordering the wrong part. So we will see tomorrow morning. 8 am

Thanks to everyone who emailed and pm me picks of the exhaust

Yes they replaced the whole exhaust.. Still has the RS2.0 xB badge so I am happy about that.

Except that they keep treating me like I am a kid.. I know 23 isn't that old but come on. Mommy didn't buy this car, I bought it with my money no one else's name is on it.. I don't live at home and I have a good job. But, still the guy feels he needs to talk to me like I am a little kid. First telling me it was my fault, I heard the rattle told them about it the week before and they said it was the silencer and tighten it. Then saying some one stole it have you ever heard of someone breaking off a welded on tip to an exhaust? I haven't.
The past two time I have gone there its taken more than 3 visits to get the problem solved and I have had to contact the manager. I don't know much about cars but I have discovered what the problem was and found the parts on my own. The dealer has the proper info and part numbers on my car and they can't even do that. They had my car for three days to change 2 tires. I couldn't take it to a tire shop because they were the only ones with the key for my wheels and didn't give me one when I purchased the car with those wheels.

So its time for me to go to a new dealer ship cause it looks like it will be more convent to drive 45 mins to an hour to another dealership, than to go to the one where I bought the car across the street from my house.

Sorry a little venting..

Repost from another thread:

I just had mine on a lift so I checked the welds on the tip. They are cracked almost
all the way around. I will see the dealer tomorrow at 10. I can't believe that they have
service on a Sunday. I am prepared to fight the same battle as Teyem9. I can't wait
until they try to say my supercharger caused it.

Dang....where exactly is this part breaking? We haven't had any problems yet that I'm aware of, but I'd like to know what to watch for.
