Hey everyone

For Christmas, I recieved an OBX shift knob, and I somehow lost the required bolt that came with it, so it just sits on the shift bar (rattles alot). Anyway, I couldn't find that bolt ANYWHERE, and OBX said you can only get another one by buying a whole new shift knob. So what do I do? I buy a new shift knob.

It came in the mail today, I opened it, I proceeded to put it on, and the same bolt falls into the E-Brake slot. Now, It's somewhere down there and I can't get my hand in there.

Does anyone know how to get in there?

wow, 3rd time's the charm? Surely you can pop the plastic housing of the consol out like you would a manual trans to get down in there and fetch your bolt(s) out. Might wanna stuff a sock in the gap next time so the bolts don't get away from you :P

Just take out the center console.

I have an automatic and need the plastic piece also, my threading got messed up (twice), thats why I was asking. But in your case, you can take apart the console and retrieve both pieces.

every toolbox should have one of these (http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=53577&group_ID=1272&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog) and one of these (http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=62331&group_ID=1273&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog)

^^What he said. Its easy. I remember when I got my OBX Knob. I can't exactly remember what piece it is, but you have to remove the base I think and turn it upside down for an AT. Once you fiddle with it, you'll figure it out. Also, you need to push the white threads into the ball pretty far. After the knob is on, its pretty hard to take off completely without stripping the threads. So be careful. Sorry I don't have any pix. I hope this helps.

Same exact thing happened to me man, I feel your pain. I didn't feel like ripping apart the console, so I pulled the carpet out on the driver's side, at the base of the console and was able to see right in there with a flashlight and grab the adapter.

Glad you got it on.
