View Full Version : Transformer Movie
silverxb 02-15-2006, 09:39 AM Well there's a transformer movie comming out next year and i was wondering if the scion xb autobot skid would be in the movie. wouldn't you guys think that it would be cool to see one of our boxes as an autobot kickin' decepticon a$$ in a movie. man an xb versus starsream or even megatron. that would be sweet.
Sanjuro 02-15-2006, 01:03 PM Any hope I had for this movie died when they attached Michael Bay to it.
Guamsilverbox671 04-04-2007, 02:21 AM Well here's the updated trailer.....

Daskid 04-04-2007, 08:51 PM Nah... I'd say the xB should be a decepticon and kick Optimus Prime's rear nut. :P
archangel 04-04-2007, 09:39 PM Whats wrong with michael bay? This movie looks awesome!
transformerXA 04-05-2007, 01:16 PM Nah... I'd say the xB should be a decepticon and kick Optimus Prime's rear nut. :P
Agreed!!
DragonR 04-10-2007, 09:52 PM im loving the trailers for this... im not that familiar with michael bay outside of badboys/badboys2 to make a decision on him
seattledave 04-10-2007, 10:04 PM people talk smack abuot him because of Pearl Harbour & Armageddon. he's a big explosion, little on story guy.
KahunaBlair 04-10-2007, 10:41 PM Yup, shallow story, all action. The perfect guy for a movie that has cars that transform into Giant Robots and fight.
Want to talk about a great movie to turn your brain off to?
This is my younger-self's wet dream of a movie!
scionofPCFL 04-10-2007, 11:23 PM I'm more than a little bit peeved that Jazz is a chick car Solstice. GM is sponsoring this movie, so don't expect anything but vehicles from the General.
KahunaBlair 04-11-2007, 06:25 PM ^^I know what you mean man. Jazz should have been a Lambo or something with a little more balls and umph!
My childhood memories weeped a little when I saw that Optimus Prime was going to have FLAMES painted on him!
But then I saw the pictures and I'm choicing to not complain to much till I see the movie.
DragonR 04-11-2007, 06:40 PM as usual, they are gonna sacrifice the way we all remember transformers for big corporate sponsoship...
btw... expect a lot of solstices on the road this summer driving like idiots...
does anyone else remember a lot of mitsubishi eclipses driving like maniacs after 2fast2furious came out???

maybe there is a scene where he goes on "trick my truck" http://www.roadking.com/uploads/13_55_2.jpg
scionofPCFL 04-12-2007, 08:56 PM Jazz was Porsche 911 turbo. That's what he should be in the movie, nothing else. I would accept the Decepticon Jets being f-22's instead of f-16's, that's a no biggie, but Porsche to Solstice? Please. I'd have to shoot myslef in the face if I had to make that step down. But whatever, since they moved him to a Solstice does Richard Simmons or Harvey Firestien voice him now?
seattledave 04-12-2007, 09:56 PM I like the transformations so far. mr.bay said he wanted to make the transforming actually seem realistic to the vehicle. the cartoons, weren't, they were big and blocky tranformations.
i was the big fan growing up. i remember when i went to the theatre for the cartoon, & that cheesey music video at the end. i was like 6 or so when i got the megatron ruger pistol. i was king of my block when i got that sh!t. I still even have my alpha omega toy (the tank, track and rocketship transformers) sadly the ruger was left in my grandpas iowa farm.
DragonR 04-12-2007, 10:41 PM i always loved the 5 transformers that joined to make one big @$$ robot... i cant remember their names... but the decepticons had the farm vehicles and the autobots had the jets...
i wonder how many they will show or mention or flash back to.... dinobots anyone?
seattledave 04-12-2007, 10:51 PM only 5 robots per team/side in the movie.
dinobots were the poorest part of the original show.
KahunaBlair 04-12-2007, 11:15 PM Come on Dave!
Grimlock was bad ___!
seattledave 04-12-2007, 11:31 PM the dinobots were crazy, and grimlock was too powerful, they'd have him just about go toe to toe with OP.
KahunaBlair 04-14-2007, 07:27 PM Dude, the craziness was the best part! What's better then a giant robot that turns into a truck? A giant CRAZY robot that turns into a dinosaur!
Now if you want to talk stupid, remember the little ones that transformed into rocks?
DragonR 04-14-2007, 08:02 PM Dude, the craziness was the best part! What's better then a giant robot that turns into a truck? A giant CRAZY robot that turns into a dinosaur!

asteroids.... asterobes... something.... i had OrbBear...
hey i cant remember the boombox guys name... but... you think he is in the movie... maybe as an ipod??!?!?!?!
can someone remind me who Rodimus Prime was?
KahunaBlair 04-14-2007, 08:06 PM Rodimus Prime was the "Hot Rod" car from the Movie. Judd Nelson (The bad boy from Breakfast Club) did his voice. He's the reason the Optimus Prime got killed.
The Boombox guy was Soundwave. I read some where that they weren't going to have him in this one, but how friqqin funny would that be?
KahunaBlair 04-14-2007, 08:19 PM http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0864/
Well the "Rock Transformers" were called Rock Lords, and they were Go-Bots. God I hated Go-Bots!

Last time I checked Michael Bay was a good director. I had a few friends work on the Transformers movie. I cannot wait to see it!
scionofPCFL 04-17-2007, 12:43 AM Last time I checked Michael Bay was a good director.
I'd be fairly interested to see what he could do with a simple million dollar budget. If he put out something worth seeing, I'd support your comment, but in reality, right now, he is just a cheeze ball special effects blockbuster dude. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

the rock was pretty good. that's relatively low dollar, when yuo take out the actor's salaries.
he's also got: Playboy Video Centerfold: Kerri Kendall on his directoral resume.
I bet that's good.
scionofPCFL 04-17-2007, 01:05 AM All movies (except toons) are relatively inexpensive when you deduct the salaries (and stupid requests) of the actors.
Point being, could he have done Clerks on $30k? or El Mariachi on $50k? Doubt it.
KahunaBlair 04-17-2007, 05:09 PM I don't think many directors could do El Mariachi for $50k. What Rodriguez did on that film was something special. I really doubt even Speilberg would be able to do it these days.
That being said I think Bay is just a stupid popcorn flick director that pretty much always hits his marks. Its easy to make a stupid movie that doesn't bring people in, but he's able to at least do a good job at it.
krustytheclown 04-18-2007, 06:39 PM Like was mentioned before, a guy that pretty much specializes in mindless action seems to be the perfect choice for a movie about cars and helicopters/airplanes that transform into giant robots.

i meant all of michael bay's movies were expensive because of sets, explosions, etc... he could of had the cheapest actors doing pearl harbor, armageddon, etc... and they still would have cost a boatload.
scionofPCFL 04-19-2007, 05:11 PM Ok, good director (not special or not great). One who can make an entertaining flick that will sell tickets. But seriously, who couldn't with a $300 million budget and an entire studio's support?
What he isn't: a great director that can make a compelling film.
KahunaBlair 04-19-2007, 07:22 PM But seriously, who couldn't with a $300 million budget and an entire studio's support? .
Those movies are out there. They're called flops. Look at Waterworld.

Not every movie has to make you think. I HATE stupid movies without a point, but sometimes they can make Good movies without points.
Look at Pirates of the Caribean. That movie was pretty much look at this fight over here, oh no, look at this guy, he has a squid for a face! Its just a fun popcorn movie that lets you turn your mind off for a bit.
Plus, lets not forget, we're talking about the artistic merits of a movie that is based on a Saturday morning cartoon that was basically a half hour long toy commercial.

KahunaBlair 04-19-2007, 10:23 PM I normally hate decals on the side of cars, but I kinda like the xb.

Waterworld had other issues, not naming names, but it rhymes with Devin Nostner.
I love a good popcorn flick like anybody else, but I wouldn't confuse Michael Bay with a Danny Boyle. Bay has just earned the reputation that if someone wants to make flick like Transformers, and not have it totally flop, he's the guy to put it together.
And what I mean by "make you think", isn't some artsy fartsy film about a bag floating in the air. I mean a movie that doesn't telegraph every last twist, so that when it gets there I get to say, "I knew that was gonna happen." I like to be surprised with the direction movies take.

Are you talking about Melvin Fostner? I thought all he did was hold a boom mic! What's the matter with him? :P

I got ya now.
Danny Boyle huh? Think "Sunshine" is going to be any good?
Oh and I liked American Beauty! haha Sorry had to defend it!
