I'm only rubbing on the rear passenger side. Is that normal? Its rubbing BAD too. I dont get it. Any ideas?

i have seen this in a few post on scion life. it is not unusual to have your box rubbing on the right side. that is the way the suspension is set up. hope this helps

yep.. happened to me too.. only on the passenger side, when somebody was in the back seat... and even if they sat on the drivers side, it would rub on the passenger side. :roll:


rims look good by the way.. i need to pull my schmidts out and put them on a car.

OK. so its a common problem. So is there a common solution? Custom passenger side spring or should I just roll the damned fenders?

When the xB is lowered--the suspension shifts to the RIGHT side of the car...so any type of wheels are going to stick out more on the passenger side more so than the drivers side, even with the same offset on both sides, as most of you have noticed.

A friend told me this is the same situation on the 1985-87 Corolla (AE86) so it's probably a Toyota suspension design flaw that makes it like that...I know for a fact on my xB the right rear wheels is out a bit more than the left side when viewed from behind.

Common thing--i wouldn't really call it a problem, more of a design issue...nothing to worry about, at least I hope not!

I gotta worry cause Im rubbing :(

I was thinking Indy 500 because I hate NASCAR...plus I live in Indianapolis

Mine rubs to on stock height springs on the rear passeged side and I am running 205/55/16's in the rears the only way to solve your problem is going with smaller tires which is what I am going to do after another 5000 miles
