Default Wheel weight

How much does a stock wheel weigh? The stock tires are 23lbs... so if anyone has the weight of the wheel and tire together, that would be great. I'd weigh it myself, but I dont have a scale that's accurate at that low a weight.

Thanks,
- Dante

You can always weigh yourself holding the wheel and tire and then weigh yourself without the wheel and tire. Subtract the difference and you will have the answer to what it weighs.

good point...I'll do that later...and I'll post up the numbers. Only one fool should have to weigh his tires

But seriously, I couldnt' find it with the search button so I'll try to make it available.

I read on TN or 9thGencorolla, that the stock 17x7 tC wheel weighs 19lbs alone.

To be honest with you, I'm not sure yet. It rained the day I was gonna do it and I didn't feel like taking my wheel off in the rain.

I'll post up some numbers today.... it's 40 and sunny.

I will post this for simple comparrison purposes. This is on a bathroom scale that unfortunatly I dont get it calibrated by a NASA dude every other day. Last time I posted this up I got flamed that its not right because my scale could be off. So for what its worth here ya go:

its right around 41 lbs for both tire and wheel. That is with 400 miles on the tires so full tread.

I just weighed the wheels (backs because they had more tread left. About 50% treadlife left.) The wheels and tires were 41lbs each so figure about a pound less rubber due to loss and we're at about 42lbs new. minus the tire weight of 23lbs new, the wheels are only 19lbs.

Thanks, guys! I've seen 18, 19, 22 & 26 pounds posted on this forum, so this does help a bit. Now I just need to decide whether or not it's worth it to spend $129 per wheel, just to drop ~2 pounds for each corner...

Dont forget that high performance tires will probably weigh a little bit more than stock too. If you can get a upgraded wheel/tire combo with the same overall weight as stock youre doing well since there will be such a dramatic performance increase from the new tires.

I got a set of 18"s and they weigh in the same as my stock 17"s. I have the pic on the home comp or in a thread on here elsewhere. Deffinetly dont go any heavier if you can aviod.
