r u s/c. cause a stock na tc would have no chance with a spec with i/h/e.

my scion tc had an catback, k&n drop in...i've raced and beat...

5. the new yaris( and i had 5 pple in the car more than 400 pounds, he was by himself)

Right. Age, the type of car, the car color, driving record. how many miles you drive Insurance doesn't look at that they just look at all the street racers and decided that's what they're going to base your insurance off of.

I LOVE racing my car. It takes restraint to drive a fast car like an adult on the street.

Back in the 50's, when hotrods were new (not unlike tuner cars), they made their cars fast, drove them fast, they created drag strips for a legal outlet, eventually, they realized that if they drove with restraint on the street that prople would respect the cars they worked so hard on instead of looking down on them.

such as going to bufu somewhere where there is nothing but cornfields on both sides of the road. and its 3AM so there is no other cars on the road cuz its not a busy road anyways.

Your sarcastic jab is actually making you look intelligent. It's the same (main) reason that it costs more to insure a less-expensive sports car than a more-expensive mini-van; insurance companies can just sort of assume (rightfully) that you're doing to drive it fast (see: this thread) and crash it (see: the rest of the forums).

Last week lost 50 bucks to my friends '99-'00 (I forget) Si with a B20 swap, exhaust, 6 puck clutch, and LS tranny. He was alone I had 3 people with me. We did a 50 roll 2 times. Kept up with him till I shifted into 4th then he just started pulling. Then later that night raced a 4 door SI. 1st time we took off but I was really low on gas and my engine just starved when I shifted into 2nd. Got to the light and ask him if he wanted to race again I just needed to pump gas. He said sure. So I pump has then I see his friend in a '06 2dr SI with a video camera. After I pump 15 bucks we head around the corner the a little 1/8 strip. 2nd race I forgot to put it in gear so I just revved. :doh: 3rd time took him off the line to win by 1-2 cars. Then he asked me what I had I told him stock, no exhaust, and short shifter. 4th time 25 roll he takes off like nothing but I was in 2nd. He had 4 people, I just had my cousin. Then this weekend I was in Riverside, Ca and I raced a 3000gt. went from a 35-40 roll, took him by a car. Get to the light I rev a little victory look over and his girl is laughing. He was gonna turn right but then he backs up and takes off from behind me (i didn't launch) so he was gone. All in all it was fun

Beat an 08 Eclipse GT V6, 6 speed manual

55 mph roll up to 100-105 I had about 1.5 cars on him and he began to come back up. By about 120 he would have taken me but up to then it was a gradual pull...nothing impressive.

^thats a low-mid 14 sec. car, since his is a 6spd I'm gonna say he needs a driver mod bad.

Beat an RSX, Eclipse, Honda Civic both new and old, integra gsr, VW golf, Prius lol, corolla, acura TL 3.2L, Camry, and yea pretty much bout it, Managed to beat an evo 9 off the dig..consistently but after 2 seconds the evo pulls away. Oh yea my tC was fully stocked when I won against these rides. Right now i only have a greddy exhaust..plus street racing is bad.

did the evo not know how to hold the rpms and slip the clutch or what? because AWD beats the ish out of FWD all over the place

2nd gen Eclipse (debadged so not sure if it was a GS-T or GSX. It looked like they had removed an X but it was definitely turboed)
-from a dig (lost by about 1.5 -2 cars) (if only i didn't accidentally redline first)
-from a 40-50 roll (hung with him)


5th or 6th gen H22 powered Accord with exhaust and carbon fiber hood and system
- 40-50 roll took him by about 1 car
- dig lost by 1-1.5 cars

what the a triple post again what the hell is goin on.

smoked a pos Civic. He came into qt revving. then as he was leaving again he's revvin. So i went after him. Went from a 40 roll. At first he was trying to play with me, taping on the gas. Finally he punches it, so I floor it and he becomes a speck in my rear view. He didn't even bother looking my way after. I couldn't help but smile

Lost to a Tiburon GT.
1st time spun my tires to much.
2nd time got traction but still lost by about 1-1.5 cars

he had CAI, Intake manifold, headers, exhaust, six-speed and was alone. I had 2 other people with me.

Lost to a 5.0. by about 1-2 cars. The guy(he's in my auto class) let me drive and that thing was sick. He told me to do 10-15mph then stab it so I did and man does that have power.

Then cause I was bored at work that weekend, I opened my header.
Race my friends Malibu V6 (so far every car that this guy has put me up against he says he'll win. Hasn't happened yet. Althought he has a friend with a SE-R Spec V that I do want to race anywhoo) Beat that by cars.

Then driving to a pool hall his RSX pulls next to me. I just ignore it till he floored it to get ahead of me. He do the same thing about a mile up and then we go our ways. Driving back home, i run into the same RSX ( i could tell from the wing color and rims). This time he wants some. So from a 40 roll in 3rd he pulls up next to me honks his horn 3 times and I won! It was me + 2 and it looked like a stock RSX not even an exhaust.

i had a new mustang try racing me the other day but the v6 POS it was an auto so all u heard was his car trying to hard to move ahead it was hilarious.

and the other nite i had a tC try racing me SO funny he had an adjustable bench seat wing (no kaminari i mean DRIFT type of wing) he had a Fart can and he was trying so hard to get my attention i jus let him go cause i opened my window pointed at the wing and laughed at him lol

Raced an old Lexus with a fart canon and an Accord with a horrible body kit. It was funny

You said you beat an H22 civic from a 40 roll? I highly doubt that not even a bad driver, those cars easily run in the 13s in the 1/4 mile.

Yea I wanted to but I couldn't, I'll keep an eye on the 1up thread to see when you go again, now that I got some 18in wheels with 295s in the back it should be a little better, its no DR but its better than the stockers. Also Moroso should be opening soon, all you guys should go, if I'm off I'll definitely go.

K, I'll keep an eye on it. Well even with mickie thompson DR I still had issues with traction at countyline, so I doubt that a street tire will hook better than a DR but it will be better than the stock 245s, it was just plain retarded to go with them to the track.

An H22 Civic is not a 13sec car either. They are 14sec cars. If they have all the bolt-ons and slicks, then yeah 13's.

It all depends. 1/8th mile, they run pretty similar times. 1/4 mile they will get a stock tC.

An H22 Civic is not a 13sec car either. They are 14sec cars. If they have all the bolt-ons and slicks, then yeah 13's.

the guy I ran at the track was running very low 9s on the 1/8 mile with a ____ty 2.3xx 60ft and almost 80mph for trap speed, it was a '93 hatch with full interior and no boltons, just the swap, if that's not a 13sec car then I don't know what is.

ok lets see hp/weight ratio, these numbers are off the top off my head. tC- 2900/161= 18.01 lb/hp H22 HB 2300/ 200= 11.5 lb/ hp. Thats a big difference, so you're saying that your stock tC ran a couple of tenths behind an h22 hb?? Just because you ran 15.1 on your "stock" tC with an exhaust doesn't make all tC's into very low 15sec cars.

Doesnt that exceed the maximum rated load on the car?? I'm pretty sure it's no more than 8-900lbs, that v6 must have looked like it was on air bags.

2009 acura TSX from a red light maybe about till about 10/14 blocks. i noticed he was trying to catch up to me awhile back so then i was at the light so was he he starts revving his engine so watever i thought id give it a shot i dont care. we both had the green light i chirped into 2nd and 3rd i was ahead of him my car was half my car infront of him the whole time so basically the nose of his car was next to my passenger door after i got into 4th and then 5th i saw him slowly getting ahead of me then thats when i pressed on my brakes same time as him he opened his window jus nodded his head and waived at me a friendly lil thing i was jus really surprised that i was ahead of him for aslong as i was i shifted perfect and everything i was proud of myself considering i never race off the line.

even with full bolt ons on a tc a stock si will probably walk a tc on the freeway

and a b18 hatch....if it was a gsr b18c1 then he wasnt racing...if it was an ls swap then i guess its believable

brother is with 20" heavy chrome rims his car has a system as well car is heavy as fcuk 4 dr aswell, but yet everything depends on the driver. like it was said he took me once and i took him another could be alot of key factors mis shifting etc.

the b18 im not sure, the kid supposably told me he had a b18 but i know he does have a swap bc my boy had the engine and gave it to him off an integra now he has a h22. maybe he was jus braggin about what he had under the hood told him to let me check it out never did it he jud left after the spank fest.

i never have problems with si's 06-08 usually jus depends on the driver top end a si will get me ofcourse but i never actually had an Si get me on top end i always stop and thats when they jus fly by me. jus depends on the driver really and what they have aswell i have been beaten by Si's and also have done sum beating on them aswell. its basically bak and forth i dont always take them and they dont always take me

when i had my 02 si it was nice and all but now wit my tc i beat EP3's like nothing

Raced my friend Clayton's LS1 Firebird tonight. We had raced before when it was completely stock, and I was on like 8lbs. I beat him by about 2 cars.

Since then, he has added some Long Tube Headers dumping straight out (no exhaust). Sounds bad ___. He had is MAF fixed since the last time we raced. He was telling about racing some camaro and beating him, and the guy he raced was running consistent 12.9 1/4 miles in the Camaro.

So, tonight me and him raced again. tC is a beast on 12lbs of boost. I put 2 to 2 1/2 cars on his Firebird. I think he missed a gear first race cause I left pretty hard. Second race, he jumped me, but I put 1 1/2 cars on him by 120mph. 3rd race even start, and I put 2 to 2 1/2 cars on him. Good runs tonight even though I felt the tC was being a little slow. It wasn't hitting as hard as when I first turned it to 12lbs. My A/F ratio had something to do with that though as when I first turned it to 12lbs I was running high 11/low 12's A/F ratio. It warmed up a little tonight, so the car richened up and was running low 11's A/F ratio (which felt sluggish to me even though I pulled 2+ cars on him).


PS....Damn I can't wait to make it to the drag strip when the season comes back. If I don't run low 12's I'm shooting something..LOL. I'm looking to squeak out a high 11sec run on LSD + Slicks + 14 lbs of boost + 2step launch control.

it had like 6 teenage boys in it lmao.

we were already accelerating pretty good down the highway, which made the difference, but when it came to the sustainability of power and speed as well as acceleration once on our way, the tc was smooth and quick.

then again, i always say, in the end the driver is what wins the race.

i was all stock at the time, and did not have all of the interior work that weighs me down now.

I wouldn't be ashamed of that... the new beefed up Sequoias have a 15.7 HP/weight ratio and 14.96 TQ/weight ratio. Whereas the tC has only an 18.125 HP and TQ/ weight ratio. You probably only pulled out in 4th cuz the 4WD slowed him down too much

all i hear is the tc's are slow and i see a list of cars beaten by a stock tc or tuned...i think its the driver to be honest.. i can understand if the tc's beat the old civics with the 1.6 and 1.8 liter engines but everything else seems odd..i guess it does envovle weight

if you have a 160 hp car and you race a 230hp car and you win there could be lots of reasons as they all say its the driver...

Well today i had 2 kids wanting to race me.

1.i wake up and start driving to track practice and this kid that goes to my school pulls up at a red light. He drives an old mercury with limo tint, tribal tattoo designs on the sides and an exhaust louder than all hell. Now i'm not the racing type but this kid was asking for it. he revved non stop and rolled his window down and kept nodding at me to try and race. so i look over, light turns green, i beat him off the line, pull in front of him and go to practice. i was not in the racing mood today.

2.Right after practice i'm heading home and what do you know another kid wants to race me. except this kid is driving a ford explorer and is with his mom. yeah, ridiculous but what can you do. this kid was going the same way i was but he kept a constant speed with me and kept casually glancing over at me while his mom was reading a magazine. at a stop light i decided i'm gonna mess with him. i needed to take the next left so i pretended to take off when the light turned green and he takes off while i just go home.

Yeah, i was not a big fan of the fast and the furious series.

yea most of the time i get kids with beatup civics wants to race there easy to beat..

sometimes trucks think there badass they might have more power but also weighs alot...

im not a racer either i didnt buy the car to race...but im very happy with the car...my goal is to own different type of cars and not stick with the same car forever..

Well I am kind of cheating since I have been driving my WRX for the past few months while the weather is ____ty.

1) 2000 Mustang
2) 1994ish Civic with a nasty wing and body kit on it
3) 2007 Scion tC
4) 1998 Acura Integra
5) 2007 STI (Got my ___ kicked)
6) 2009 Scion xB

All but the STI I beat LOL, but it was all track racing. Racing on the street is stupid so dont do it.

i would love the have a WRX....yea street racing aint the way to go...

2008 si is and ok car they have more HP then Torque which turned me away...you need torque to get you going not HP.....

manybe on the next generation of hondas they will redesign those digital gugages with something better and more more or equal power in it

Depending on mods it would take quite a bit for one of our TC's to take a SER spec V. I beleave they run low 14's

spec.v's are pretty fast carsi mean they can ge tit going but very rare to find them.....i was goona get one but just couldnt find the right one and wanted somethnig different something i can make my o0wn like the tc a DIY car

99 Mercedes Benz CLK 430(couldnt pass me) he took the hit and took off and i caught up in 2nd and stayed even until til 5th gear and i was gaining a half car

I normally don't race, I dont get people reving up to me at lights but what I have raced isn't anything amazing. I choose my races wisley I usually don't race V-8 and some V-6's. I have a fettish with racing G35's I hate them with a passion. I've beat a few G35's, Spec V's and typical hondas.

But one morning I was heading to work from my inlaws and I passed a Honda Civic, I thought eh only a gsr swap max. Dude pulled up next to me and rev'd up. So I slammed it into the sweet spot (65mph 3rd drop) All I heard was Vtec kick in and I was like I got this, then all of a sudden I hear that turbo spool... All I can think was ohhh snap I'm done, sure nuff he pulled like 5 cars on me.. Sadly I couldn't catch up to give him a thumbs up.

I raced a yellow ranger with stunter rims off a light up to the speed limit. I had obviously won, so when I reached 50 and slowed down he kept gunning it and sure enough a cop pulls him over :rofl:

^lol 2 nites ago around 3 in the morning I was on the hwy and a old MK3 94-98(ish) volswagen gti drove up next to me (I had a 98 jetta so I know exactly what he has in his car) all that was visible was a doofy weld on double piped muffler so he guns it before me I throw it into 3rd (from a 50) catch up shift into 4th and quickly into 5th and let off on the throttle I was already infront of him by awhile and sumthing told me to slow down so I did, he zooms by me and wat do u know a nypd hwy patrol charger was clocking his speed on the radar the vdub tries taking the next exit but the officer immediatly followed him out and pulled him over :silly:

I have no idea what I'm putting down yet. It seems like money is tight since this new navy crap is going around and I chose to put my money into my debt and stopped doing stuff to the car. Because the military is no longer a guaranteed paycheck every 2 weeks for 20. Seems like any little thing you do will get you kicked out.

But at one point of time I thought I was 260 but seeming how that is impossible on my setup (I got schooled on SL in a f/i forums) I would assume no more than 240 but probably more around 230.

It seems like every time I get my money to tune something else I want comes around and I chose to get that instead. The setup I have now is fine on a TRD tune, but I guess an FIC will make it run more efficient..??

The 2 I've raced were most likely autos on the highway rolling at 55-60. They will get me after 135 because I can't go anymore, but I've only been that fast once in my car. Also I didn't pull by 10 cars or anything it was more like a fender for one and the other was by 1 car and we slowed down at 115mph.

The s/c is hard hitting up at higher speeds and that is what I dont really like about it, there are major dead spots for me when I drive because anything after 70mph I can't go into 3rd and have to suck it up and rev match to 4th which still kills me because it takes time for it to build boost threw out the RPM band... But she's fun on an auto-x track!
