Yes, they did. My friend has the 95 Mustang GT. It has a 156,000 miles on it. So, it is not like it use to be. The Impala SS was slower then Sh#t. Dodge ram had me at first, but took him in thrid gear. Hemi Dodge Ram's usually run in the low 16's or high 15's. Check dragtimes.com.

ScionLife hasnt taken a stance to forbidden street racing on the site, but racing my be considered a sport that has some "technique" to it.

I personally think its stupid, but to each his own.

I went up against a new eclipse today. First gear was pretty even, 2nd he pulled a fair amount, which is when I noticed the GT V6 on the back.

I went against an RS and a GT; I'll need a few more mods to beat a GTS or GT V6, but it's still fun to try. Try a Tiburon, Cougar, or Sentra Spec-V; these are all pretty close or slightly better performers than the tC. Good practice. :gun:

Raced a tC in my WRX a couple nights ago. D'oh!

A black guy pulled up next to me while I was cruising with some friends. We were headed out to see my friend's band practice. Anyway, the guy pulls up next to us and rolls down his window. I rolled mine down to see what he wants, figured he wanted directions or something. He was like, "Wanna run?". I said a had 3 people in the car with me but I'd run him, hoping he was supercharged. We went from a 50mph roll, I didn't bother dropping into second, just went into third and pulled several cars by about 80mph and let off.

He kept trying to talk to me but I couldn't hear him so I told him to pull over. He said he had just got the car (it was stock) and wanted to run me. I told him I have about 100hp more than him and he said "It don't matter, racing is racing. It's about the driver. I wanna run you from a dig.". Then I told him I have AWD and don't worry about my driving, you don't stand a chance from a stop. He said whatever, he just got the car and wants to see how it compares. I said okay, and we went to an abandoned strip of road nearby. My friend Josh hopped out and stood about 20 feet in front of us to flag the race.

He started revving, so I revved up to about 3000rpm. Josh dropped his hands and I feathered out the clutch and punched it. I heard a honking noise and went up to the top of second (around 65mph) and looked in my mirror. He was back at the starting line. I turned around, figuring he thought I jumped the gun or something. As I pulled up I heard Josh saying to be careful since there are cops around for spring break, and the guy said goodnight and rolled off. I asked Josh what happened and he said as soon as he dropped his arms, we both launched and I pulled more than a car length before I even passed him. The guy just stopped next to Josh and said "F**k THAT!"! He asked Josh what I had done to my car and he told him I have a flashed ECU. The guy said he was considering a WRX when he bought the tC, now he wishes he had done it.

Kind of a lame race, I know but I thought the story was entertaining. I wish he had been supercharged with supporting mods, I think that would be a much more interesting race.

I live in a area with lots of BMW 5s and M3s so I tend to hang back lol. But if I drive south to Kent I can race and beat any Honda I want. I found a OLD Honda Civic that had a fart can. He wanted to race me lol for people like that I just drive the speed limit I dont see the point. and thats the same for most every Honda I see. I dont have any reason to wreck my 06.

In all seriousness, I had a carload of cholos try to race me in the rain a few weeks ago. Keep in mind that it was raining, and there was maybe 10 feet of open road with the traffic. They were in a fart-piped Corolla, and when I didn't respond, they tried swerving in front of me and slamming on their brakes.
I didn't retaliate for two reasons:
1) I have a nice, new car.
2) These losers looked as if they have/had spent time in one of the state hotels.
Not interested in getting shot or having my car wrecked for a bunch of illegal a-holes.

Wow...they really stick it to you younger people. I remember that when I had my Camaro and I was 19...insurance was more than the car payment.
I am 32 have AAA and it's $98 a month. I don't have any tickets, accidents or points, though. My rates went down a lot when I turned 25-26.

update on the kill list, i raced my friends mustang gt (auto) from a 20mph roll, took him, (all three times).
The next day we were on the way back from school, he lined up next to me at the lite, and revved, i laughed and told him no way, he kept egging me on so i told him okay and we ran. I won, he has cold air and catback exhaust too, and i beat him from a dig granted hes an auto, but still he is a gt. I also raced a 240sx he was dropped and had exhaust but that was it, took him, it was closer than the mustang, but i think it is because he wasn't an auto.

I raced 2 different mustang gt (both automatic), 2000-2002's.

The tC does win for a few gears but if you go fast enough the mustang will win, usually the beginning of 4th gear.

injen cold air, megan header and s-pipe, greddy sp2 exhaust, and twm stage 2, i have tein coilovers, but those dont really do much in the drag race lol

Don't be stupid. If you race, take it to the track. Last fall (here in east TN) two girls where hit at a stop light when a 19-year-old in aMustang GT and a guy in his late 30's driving Viper were racing on the street. They were pushed over 300 feet before the CRV they were in exploded. The driver was killed (she was crowned homecoming queen a couple hours earlier), the passenger was severly burned (she's still recovering).

If you want to take your own life in your hands, fine. But don't endager everyone else. If all these races listed here were at the track, the cool, I'm glad to see people doing what the enjoy, I've been to the track a couple times myself. But please be careful.

I had a really good race against a '02 GT eclipse 5speed last night.. I had him off the line, then in 3rd he came back and it was very close. I think I might of had a 1/4 car length on him, but I would call it a tie.

Tiburon GT with Greddy Evo2, Injen CAI, Performance Clutch and Flywheel.

Ford Focus not SVT with Exhaust and Intake (doesn't really count just for the very fact that it's a Focus.

I'm about to munch on me some 06 Civic Si with I/H/E + nitro shot. I figured he would be needing a 100shot to take down this tC. Come to find out, he only has a 60shot. That puts him at about 250whp and crappy tQ. Not enough to take out this boosted tC. Will have vid of that whenever he stops talking about racing me, and ACTUALLY races me.

If you are S/C, they you might want to work on your driving skills a bit, or get better tires.

Even with a great launch (2.1 - 2.2) you're time would only be around a 14.7-14.8.

Either you aren't getting full power out of the supercharger or you're shifting slow..

His nose was right behind my rear wheel well on 3 different runs. I even launched flat on two of them. That extra shift he had to make was 1/3 of his undoing (Spec-V's are 6 Speeds).

Yeah. It was clear though after the third race that was gonna be the result each time, provided I didnt' stall or miss a shift. The 2AZ-FE torque band is just too broad, while the Sentra's 2.5L kinda spikes. I can't wait to find out what my 1/4 Mile is, though I can speculate based on my dyno results.

Correction a tC on 6PSI can beat a 350Z. Maybe you should look up what Z's normally put down to the ground.

Beat Many S2000 on the Tail of the Dragon (hwy 129) on rain soaked Twisties when the Car was New and running on New Bridgestones. However if the S had Rain tires they would eat me up alive.

Your tC is putting down some decent numbers, however :ponder: I can think of One Little N/A 2.0L you might not want to tangle with.

Depends on the driver and if I get a good launch and don't spin much. Yeah. S2K's are my primary 4cyl n/a competition. They make a little more bhp, but I make 40 more ft-lbs torque. I don't get enough chances to race them. I wish I knew someone local that had one (preferably modded) to race with regularly. I know a guy about an hour from me that has one, but that's it.

To Compete with a S2000 the tC would have to be Boosted, or Spend a Ton of $$$ N/A.

Stock S with a Good Driver runs High 13's, add a few grand in mods and she will hit Low 13's.

It is Cheaper to get Big HP/TQ Numbers out of the Tc, IMHO

My Wifes 5sp tC beat her Brothers Impala 3800V6 from 60 to 110, pretty good for a N/A Four Banger , I Like to Play with V8's with my S, Love the Look on their Owners Face :crazy: when I Pull on them with my Little N/A Four Banger.

Took 2nd Place at Kalamazoo Speedway last Sunday in the Spectator Drags ( one lap from Dig)

1st round, Beat 78 Pontiac Firebird T/A Big Block by five cars.
2nd round, Beat Early 90's Toyota Corolla by a Half Track.
3rd round, Beat early 90's Camero with Built 383 Stroker and Supension by 2 cars.
4th and Final Round, (Best 2 out of 3 Wins)
Bad Launch on first race and I lost by 2 cars against a Built late 90's Mustang with all the track Toys on her.
2nd Race, got a Killer Launch and pick up 1.5 cars on the Stang by turn 3 and then I Spun Out coming out of turn 3 going into turn 4. Kept her off the Walls but Lost the Race to the Stang and took 2nd overall.

2 nights ago a friend of mine was to drunk to drive home. So I drove her 2005 Mazda Rx-8 and my buddy drove my tC. He had never driven my tC before but I told him that on the way home I knew a place where we could go race. Yeah my Scion tC burned that Rx-8 badly. I tried everything in my power to catch the tC and couldn't. I had to get a towl hahahaha

I was laughing before we started that there was no way the tC could keep up with it. I was delightfully proven wrong.

RB20Det powered 240SX REMATCH (he upgraded to a FMIC, and tinkered with other misc parts).

WRX REMATCH (you know, the one that jumped ahead of me in the last vid I posted a while ago, but I stuck to his back bumper, and he could not pull on me once I actually came into boost. Also must mention that I was not brake boosting when I raced him the first time).

Race Details: Supposedly, he turned down his boost for some odd reason from the 16 PSI that he raced me the first time on, to 10 PSI on this race. Well, that proved to be a bad mistake, because all he saw was the tail lights, AND HE HAD A HALF LENGTH HEAD START! I have vid of the WRX race, and the 240SX race that I will make a thread on later today or tommorrow.

Race Detail: We both kicked it from 40. My girl just getting the hang of brake boosting, and so she was brake boosting, honked 3 times, and we went. Civic pulls ahead slightly, however we start to gain on it. She shifts to 4th, AND MISSES THE GEAR! Looses ground on the Civic, then she shifts to 5th, AND MISSES FIFTH TWO! I'm like babe, come on now, what's the deal. She complains that she don't know what happened......WELL....WTF? HOW do you miss 4th and 5th gear you ask?

BY DRIVING IN FREAKIN FLIP FLOOPS THATS HOW! So, we get back up next to the Civic, and I tell them I would like for her to try again, cause she missed both 4th and 5th gear. They obliged. THIS TIME the FLOOPERS come off... :rofl: 40 Roll again, and we immediately start pulling on them, with Misti hitting her shift points and gears. UNFORTUNATELY! I only have vid of the first race where she missed the gears (which you can tell we start to gain on it before she misses 4th). I was using our digital camera because the camcorder had a dead battery. And there is only so much a little stick of memory can hold on a digital camera.

After the Civic loss, he mentioned that he was trying to spray, but that some wire kept coming loose. So, there will be a rematch between us and the coupe next week.

So, with that said......

All I have to say is earlier today I finished installing my Megan racing header and was driving it around just enjoying it and I pulled up next to a GTP grand prix. For those of you who dont know that means its supercharged. To start off with the kid didnt know how to drive and light to light I beat him by about 5 lengths. Second light we stop and he is like I just got smoked so I looked over and told him I would give him a head start so I backed up to his bumper and waited a second once the light turned. I caught up with him right before I hit 3rd. It was a good nig

These things are pretty quick for an all motor setup considering its weight. I ran one at the track a few weeks ago and it pulled a 14.1.

those cars are surprisingly slow, not sure if tCs can take them stock for stock.
i would guess charger wins by 1/2 - 1 car length.

I was driving down the highway, and a lowered SC 300 drives past me. I was going about 65 in a 55, when he passed me. I speed up, so I good get him at one of the two lights ahead. We both got stuck behind some semi trucks at the first light. My semi was moving faster, so I hit it a little when I passed him to see if he was interested. I look in the mirror, and he took the bait. He comes up behind me pretty quick.

Anyway, we line up at the light. They did not rev their exhaust and did not look over at me, so I was not going to hit it unless they did. Light turns green, and he hits it. He starts off about a car and a half on me, becuase I was not sure if he was racing. He stopped pulling on me around 5,500 rpm in second. I passed him hard around 65 miles per hour. I pulled about 4 car lengts, before I let off. They gave me the piece sign out the sunroof, and they turned off.

So, I gave him a head start, and I still beat him. It was a pretty nice car. The car had aftermarket wheels and was about 2 inches off the ground. By the way, these cars comes stock with 225HP and 210TQ.

SWEET.....someone was a SUCKER!!

I beat an STi Yeah baby! I topped my car out at about 130mph and he was about 1-1 1/2 cars behind (twice) Then he pulled up next to me and just gave me a thumbs up and drove off.:)

sweet, those cars give me a really good run
usually i can get about 1/2 to car on them. from a roll of course
if they are modded, its all over :doh:

2006 Scion TC 5Spd vs 2006 Eclipse GT

It was pretty much the same race as the Lexus SC 300, but a different result. I pulled up to the guy at a light, it was a guy in his 50's. So, I assume he will probably not race. So light turns green and I go to about 4,000 rpm in 1st and nothing. So I shift into second, and the ___ took as I was shifting into second. He jumped about three car lengths on me, until I got to the high end of second. He pulled a little on me at the begging of third, but he stopped pulling on me when we hit about 70. I let off around 80. He was about 3 1/2 to 4 cars in front of me. If I would have stayed in first gear until redline, I probably would have stayed within a car or two. It was a nice car, but I would of liked to take him of the light. Nest time, I am just going to ask the person if they want to race. I am tired of waiting, and they take off when I am shifting or at low rpm's in second.

By the way, these cars come stock with 263 HP and 260 TQ.

Those are Auto's, there is no "Not knowing how to drive" when it comes to that car. Race it again for more than 10 feet.

Mine were all from the start except for the Golf. That was a rolling 3 beep at around 35-40 mph.

Mine were all from a stop, except the cobalt and the vette, i came from behind and took it. The charger was rolling at around 40.

Uhh... Its kinda obvoius when someones trying to race you.
But most of them were friends and the other ones look over and rev at lights and give dirty looks or nod their heads, or some just floor it at the light and then i try to keep up and pass.

I go for verbal confirmation b/c we have some ugle mo fo's around here that might look like they are giving a "race" face but are just nasty looking to start with. :P

You just never know, some of the race stories on here sound nothing like a legit race. So, I had to ask.

The Cobalt (not my friend's S/C) I raced looked over at me, turned his bass up since he had about 2-3 subs, and yelled over at me. I looked at him and laughed. I reved and drowned out his music. I could feel it, just not hear it. N E who....He went for it so I just rolled forward a bit and then punched it. Yeah, by 3rd he was looking at my tail lights. Dumba**! :loser:

Yea anyways, i lost to a hyundai accent, some fords and chevy's, a civic, a neon, 92 accord, rsx, and some crown victoria's, impalas, the new mailbus. Its weird how i never won a single damn race. And the crown's, impalas, and malibu's always pull me over for some damn reason, but then don't worry i lost them after they stopped behind me.

The tC had came from behind me about 85 to my 65 and when I pun ched it when we where even and he barely got to my nose when I flew by him. haha gotta love my 3rd and 4th gear.

Beat a f-150 5.4 triton last night. He was a good sport, when he caught up at the light, he pulled up beside me and told me how much he liked my car, and he wanted one

Ive got a CAI, 58mm TB, Pacesetter Headers, Into Purple Hornies Dumped Under the cab (Sounds amazing, like a damn dragster, its UNGODLY loud.), 3.73 gears. Before being tuned and the 3.73s it put down 289 with a slight miss and some KR.
I guess it runs okay but im so bored with the power already, I cant wait to get the interior done then full suspension, then in January on come the power mods. Yes

Yesnice list, raced a friend with a 350 with cai/exhaust/lighten flywheel/upgraded clutch. he wasn't so happy when i pulled him (from a 40) soon then he put on raceheaders and blew me away :doh: (he wasn't the greatest driver)

I kicked a Previous model GT mustangs but today in my 350Z. It was from a dig to about 90mph. I would say by atleast a car length, but it was hard to tell since he was behind me. He definately had upgraded the exhaust, and had the Corba rims and body kit going on (so i knew it'd be a hard loss for him, since he thinks he's a cobra). I was glad to have helped restore his ego somewhat to it's original state, although his anger management problems may need work.

I have a funny one! so im heading home and sitting at a red light and a 2000+ suburban flies up and goes into the intersection and slams on his breaks and backs up and hangs out his window staring at me while he feels obligated to do a burnout. So i laughed at him and he got ____ed, as soon as the light went green, bam i walked him like he forgot which side the gas is on. So we race upto about 110 and i have him by (approx) 15 car lengths. Then i back off and think to myself, ok i proved my point. But no he passes me laughing like i couldn't keep up as he passed me, whatever. But then down the road is a local cop hang out, he must not have known cuz i watched him go through the area at about 95-100, tag cops got him LMAO! good for him.

Oh and by the way this was at night, ABSOLUTELY NO other cars on the road, i don't even start to think about street racing when theres other traffic.

New Kills

G35 Sedan - unknown mods (from 5th gear, just floored it at 80mph and put two cars on him by 115-120. Then raced him and dropped to 4th gear, and straight murdered him).

05 STI - unknown mods (put about 4-5 cars on it from a 40 roll. Raced him twice second time with a different driver, and I still walked him).

Silver SRT-4 cranked boost to 17 PSI (put about 2-3 cars on him from 40-50 roll. Raced him twice).


Loss

Black SRT-4 Mopar Stage 2 upgrade cranked boost to unknown #'s (lost by about 2-3 cars. Only raced him once).

Last race, the STI and the Black SRT-4 were lined up, and I was coming up from the rear. I was about 2 cars from the rear when they took off, so I took off right behind them. As the SRT-4 started walking the STI, I passed the STI and was coming up HARD on the Black SRT-4. I was practically in his trunk. I have no idea how I pulled from two cars away to just within reach of his bumper (draft maybe). But I couldn't get the SRT-4 to race me one more time. For some reason he wouldn't race me again. I only got one try at him, and I wanted to run him again, but he ignormed practically.
