Owner of a new tC, but haven't received it yet
Hey all,
I've been waiting for about two weeks now for my Scion tC to come in. Hopefully it's going to come in between tomorrow and Monday. So I've been becoming a little impatient because I was told it would have possibly come in several days ago.
Anyway.. I bought a tC in Nautical Blue. I like the color, and I'm happy with it.. but I've heard a few things about it.. like it shows up some nasty scratches (if scratched) and collects dirt.
I just checked my dealers inventory and they have a Super White tC that matches my specs and price for the car I purchased. I'm assuming that this car will be coming in when my car shows up.
My question is.. should I switch car colors? And if so.. is that possible at this point as long as no one else's name is attached to the SW?
Thanks guys.

I think you could claim the SW if no one has dibs on it. But SW is gonna be hard to keep clean. Silver is the easiest to hide dirt/scratches imo. And that's what i have. =) But sometimes i wished i had a SW.. SOMETIMES. haha. Congrats. And welcome to the family. And remember..when someone flashes at you..its just a friendly hello. =) GL with everything!
dirt and scratches are attracted to my indigo ink pearl like a magnet.
go with superwhite or silver if you want to avoid them for the most part

wussup finch? i'm almost in the exact same position as you. i ordered my tC on feb 9th. the dealer said i should recieve it by feb 28th. i ordered a black sand pearl but i'm still indecisive between that color and then nautica blue. i fell in love with bsp tc during my test drive, but i saw one blue tc on the road that looked beautiful. when the nautica blue is nice and clean, and the sun hits it just right, the blue has a beautiful glow to it.
and it seems like the blue is the rarest color out. i love the black also, but it just doesn't stand out of the crowd like blue.
it seems like i'm going to end up with the black anyways.
i think both colors probably will reveal dirt more than any other color since it's the dark, shiny, reflective type...
i got 2 question for my fellow tc owners out there:
1. how do you guys like the factory installed LED interior lights? someone showed me his today and it doesn't look that good, doesn't seem like it's worth $250 for that stuff. the rods look cheap (basically just a rod made of clear plastic) and the wires were very visible on the outside. the rods were zip tied to the dash if i rememer coorectly, eww. but i ordered it anyways. i know these leds are cheap as hell, but i rather have the port install it than me or some after market ppl ripping out the dash or something
2. did anyone out there purchase/install factory fogs? if so, don't they use the same buld as the low beam head lights? do you think it would be difficult for me to install other fog light into the car besides the factory ones? i was thinking about some PIAAs or oems with a halo ring around it instead of factory fogs.
thanx
options: 18" ($1069), ped spoiler $425, fog $425, LED $250.

just keep waiting. its normal for buyers of scion to wait, wait and wait. sw is nice but dont settle for second best if blue is what you want.
either way you'll be happy but dont get too excited once you get it. be sure to inspect every inch of the car before you take it home.

I don't have any pics up of my Nautical Blue tC here on this site but I do own one (myspace.com/zuleus) or look up
(King Z profile name) will have it. I wouldn't worry about scratches too much as it's hard to see on NB tC's. It does get dirty (especially in Vegas) but it almost seems like you have a luxury car with that color. Blue goes great with a lot of things, black, chrome, or gold rims, and is not often seen alot strangely. Super White's are everywhere. I picked NB because I got sick of seeing white wherever I went. The decision is up to you, but I would like to see some more NB owner's out there.

In response to Aznbread's question; I have some neon blue L.E.D. lights in my car and I think they look awesome. These lights are also installed in your cupholders so they look freaking sick when you have a bottle of water handy. Would love to get some more blue light for my back seats though.
As for the fog lights, I don't have them because I really didn't need them for anything. I got Halogens so what do I really need fog lights for? I don't live in California (lol!) Can't really help on the install because I don't really know any mechanical aspects to cars.

Yup, so I finally got the car over 2 weeks later. I'm not too sure why it took two weeks since it was shipped in from Cali and I only live in NM. haha.. but whatever.
I went with the Nautical Blue and I LOVE IT. I am so happy to have the blue. Not only is it a rarer color, but it looks absolutely beautiful. Like you said.. it seems more like a luxury color and stands apart from the crowd of white, gray, and black cars.
I've been really paranoid about some dumbass opening his door and slamming it into my car. haha.
My only regret was that I did not go with the upgraded stereo, but simply couldn't afford it and didn't see much of a point if I could just plug it into the AUX system. Seems a little stupid to waste so much money to change songs on the steering wheel and have it appear on the radio screen, although would both of which would be very cool.
* Question * This seems dumb, but the cable that I need to plug into my AUX and into my iPod is just a RCA to RCA connector. I can get one at radioshack for cheap, but they're pretty long and I don't need the length. Shortest one I found was 3ft, is that as short as I'll get? I don't need all kinds of cord in my center console.
So now I begin the break in period.. just passed the 200 miles and hoping to get closer to 1000 before I plan out any long distance trips which I would love to take in my sexy new car! haha.
