Default where/how to get VIN number for a RS 3.0 for insurance

im tryin to figure out how much the insurance would be for the new RS 3.0 and i need a vin number from it.....but thinking about it.. how would an insurance company compare the rates towards that car when they are barely even out?.....but should i just get a vin from a xb to get a good judgement on it?

do you have an rs3 on order from the dealer? if so, they can provide you with the VIN once it is allocated.

I think you should just call your ins comp and ask them to give you a quote on the xb, and when you actually get it insured, let them decide what it is from the paperwork. I have a feeling that evan though the rs is a limited release, it's not papered as a different trim level (es,ls,gs etc) . Remember that one of the selling points of scions are the 'monospec trim' level. Ins comp's (in my experience) really enjoy insuring people who come in and tell them about all the mods, becasue they can charge you more.

insurance might not work this way in new york, i don't know, but I would think that they could give you a quote on a 2006 xB, and that would be fine.

Cherry Box is right. Im an insurance agent in the state of cali, all they need is year make and model. If not, the value of the car. They can get a quote w/o the vin

Yes , the less the insurance knows about your car the better except the trac control and VSS/antilock brakes. If they find out about all the RS3.0 pkg. stuff they will try to raise your rate and that is not a good thing. Just have them quote you a regular xB rate. They don't need to know about the A/V stuff till you try to make a claim if they get stolen.

I realize that guys named 'Jethro' from Tennessee speak a little differently than the rest of us, but I think he was trying to ask you if/when you were planning on lowering the RS3.

: j/k Jeff, you know I love ya man!
