wanting to buy an xA, but have a few questions...
hello everyone,
my name is dustin and i live in british columbia, canada. i have been a fan of toyotas for as long as i can remember. my 1st vehicle was a 1980 land cruiser fj40 and i currently drive a right hand drive 1989 levin gt-z right from japan. i recently discovered that it is possible to get a scion xB or xA up here from the states without going through too many hoops so i am thinking of picking up an xA. but before i do i was wondering if some of you would be able to answer a few questions i have.
1. how tunable is the 1NZ-FE? what is the most horsepower you have seen so far after a super charger or turbo charger kit etc, etc.
2. has anyone done a engine transplant yet? perhaps a 1ZZ-FE or even a 2ZZ-GE? what about an older engine like a 4A-G(Z)E, 4A-GE 20 valve, 3S-G(T)E etc.
3. i guess i'd be going for a 2006 model and i know it has slight redesigns in the taillights, interior, and a few other things but are aftermarkets parts like a TRD grille, CF hood, etc. still able to fit on a 2006?
that's all i can think of for right now, sorry for all the horsepower/performance questions, this xA will most likely be seeing the track every now and then is all. i am really into the new "fad" of the 2-door/4-door mini hatchback that all of the japanese companies have now. i love the mugen fit dynamite, mugen fit spec-d and spoon fit so i was thinking of picking up one of those in april when they are released, the only problem is that it would be a honda
i'd much rather keep it toyota but do something along the same lines. anyways, thanks for your time and try not to flame me too bad

This is purely my opinion, but I think the xA's charm is in the fact that it's fun to drive out of the factory without mods. A responsive engine, lightweight, I seriously love pushing this car to the limit. Changing these factors would dystroy the car's balance. Mods, in essence, should compliment the car, not change it completely. A few suspension mods to keep it planted, engine mods like an I/H/E to help the engine breath better, a brake mod to stop it faster. These parts bring out the potential of the engine and chassis without sacrificing the balance.
