Default xB hit by a cart! what do you think the damage is.

Hey everyone, last night i went to my car when i got done work. Noticed a 4-6 inch dent on my door. well it was hit by a cart. So its dented and scratched. About how much do you think a body shop would cost to fix something like this?

Please let me know.

Well man I dont see any pix but I was told last week by a body shop that you can usually figure paint alone on one door is around $400.00. Cost to totally repaint an xB $3,000-$4,000.

Stores generally post signs saying they are not responsible for damage caused by carts; parking is at the risk of the car owners. I'm afraid your comprehensive coverage is all you have to go one.

I agree But I almost got confirmation that it would be paid for as long as I didnt report it as an accident so it wouldent count agains our store. He said he would take care of me just to go get some estiments... So I am crossing my fingers they dont turn around and so no.

Hey, I got two quotes.. 700 through dealership and 400 through a good guy in my town.

Verdict, My work will not pay for the damage.

Make sure to "Report it as an accident so it WILL count against your store."!

Wrong way to go about it, my friend. Pick a reliable body shop in your town, go to them, and ge the work done. The cheapest guy is not always the best. Avoid chain body shops, like Maaco.

Depending on the color of the box, and where the dent is in proximity to the the other panels also depends on blending.

I work as collision esitmator, so if you have any other questions, let me know.

The only chance I had was for the store to take care of the bill, I am going to have to ride around with a dented door for a year or two until im settled after the move.
