im thinking about putting two 8" kicker subs or if i could even fit two 10"s underneathe the seats of the tC. im asking because i havent bought myne yet, but will be shortly. could you fit a slim box underneathe the rear seats? i dont want a lot of bass because i mainly listen to rock/hardcore/metal so im going for accuracy. thanks guys, oh and im a noob to the forum so HELLO!

i doubt there is room for anything under the seats. if you search there should be a DIY in how to take your car apart. Mandos did a good job at taking pictures and you will be able to see how much room there is

I highly doubt 10's will fit..... doubt 8's will fit.....

you could try elemental designs new 6.5" multi-purpose woofer

You need some room underneath for subs.... they're long and require space behind them for air compression and the like. Subs wouldn't fit under the tC seats. I don't even think a regular PS2 would fit under.. I toss a slimline PS2 and it seems like there's just enough room.

I fit my carpc under my seats and it fits fine. Its about 3.5" high. Anything higher and it wont work. Besides, you dont really want your subs under the seats, you would get really uneven sound from them.

not exactly sure what you mean by this "uneven sound"... sub bass (under 50 or 60Hz) is omnidirectional meaning you actually don't hear the sound the sub is making at all, only feel it... for that very reason, they have things like AURA BASS SHAKERS(<<click) that transfer the frequency of the bass into a motor vibration in your seat... this would be ideal if you didn't want to mess with having subwoofers....

aside from that, no, you can't put subs under the seats in a tC... maybe replace the panel speakers in the rear with some baffled Eu-700's and an amp...

click here for a video of the Eu-700's, 6.5" subwoofers

Yes im well aware of that but I wasnt very clear of what i meant.

You will have hotspots i guess i could say. Bass is omnidirectional but you still need to let the wave fully develop. I know what you are saying and you are correct.

I mounted an amp under my passenger seat but I had to use some washers to raise it a 1/2 inch. I doubt you could even get decent 8's, unless the basket is really thin. Not sure who makes decent 8's in that style.

Keep us posted on what you do, or since your local, I've got a guy that did my trunk and it looks awesome. Pm me if you want his name
