ok I just got new Guages for my box ! HELP?????
I just got a 3 guage kit for my Box, Wonder how hard to hook up ? I want to do my self if possible, so any help would be great and pics? I have a Water, Amp, and oil Guage's
Thats a fair to midland answer, sorry wasnt trying to be an a$$ when i asked the question, just rare that you see people on here with those guages if there not F/I or going F/I. But i understand wanting to know whats going on with the engine since we dont have an oil pressure guage or water temp guage factory. Are the guages digital or mechanical that may make a big difference on how and were they hookup. Theres quite a few people on here with that extensive knowledge to help you. Good luck to ya.
I'm in the middle of doing this too. I'm putting in Oil temp, Oil pressure, water temp, and voltage gauges. You will want to get these parts to make installing those gauges easy. Less than $100 delivered. There may be cheaper places to get them, just have to search.
An oil block adapter for your oil gauge(s):

A water temperature adapter for your water temp gauge:

Also do a search - there's a lot out there regarding this.
The #1 question regardiong install is are they mechanical or electrical guages? (oil & water)

With the Amp gauge, most of the time you have to run heavy guage wire from either the starter, the battery, or the alternator. Depending one which one you choose. It's not a good idea to run wire by yourself with that much current in them unless you know damn well what you are doing. A nasty fire can result and can happen fast. You are much better off with a Voltmeter. At least with a Voltmeter you can monitor battery condition. The other 2 guages aren't that hard.
My advice....dump the Amp and get a Volt.
