Default lava cold cathodes

bought the red dual cathode kit from svc.com super fast shipping from wherever came in two days. the cathodes looked pink as mentioned in the warning supplied on website. so i got the idea ( don't know if it has been covered) to sharpie the lights orange. they are almost identical to factory hotlava lights but brighter. the red really looked pink which caused me to panic i thought i would send back but shipping was gonna be crazy. looks awesome now. just a fyi to anyone looking to do the lava cold cathode upgrade for cheap.

Stained Glass paint works too, or you could just get the pctoys ones with the red casing.

On the red ones it's a little dimmer but the color change is definitely worth it.

I started out with the red cased ones and painted them and they're still pretty damned bright, so I wouldn't worry. I should also note that red is the only color you'll need to do this for, blue and green are good by themselves.

i dont have pics but it looks identical. you will have plenty left over. i did 4 cathodes and still have leftovers. the trick to making them look good is patients. don't expect to do this in like 10 min. say you have them positioned where you want them. take them out color them, hook them back up. see where you missed (this is easier at night) touch them up then install for perminent. i say touch them up b/c i have mine installed in clear view along side the rear window so mistakes and misses are visible. i plan on doing this for the underhood install as well.

note: i tried to get stained glass paint but it looked more difficult than the sharpie and it just so happen that the sharpie colored it perfectly.

Did you have to use any other components when connecting it to the electrical?
