Can a mod please put my post back as a sticky in the Pacific South section? It keeps getting removed.

Ron, the problem with the post not remaining a sticky is that every time you edit the first post in the topic, it you remove the sticky flag:

That a WHOLE lot of edits and resets.

Perhaps another way of updating information (such as having the FIRST post in the topic being an unchanging announcement, and the SECOND post being where you constantly update details) would be better, so the mods don't have to keep putting time into finding, opening it up, and resetting the flag on your topic?

If that takes starting a new topic with you being author of the first two posts (1 = announce, 2 = date/time/place details), that still might be best because it takes the load off the mods and assures your topic stays sticky...

Thanks I'll look into it but often it doesn't have a problem unless I haven't had a chance to update the date and it's removed by a Mod. And, the post is kept on the claendar of events as never ending but still gets removed.

I am going to fix the issue of things being unstickied when they are edited... this week. Sorry about that guys, it was a side effect of another change that occurred.

Hehe... jk. Ok, I forgot about this and have posted it on the phpbb.com site for the author of the modification to ponder. We'll see what he says.

I can see arguments for each side.... it's easier on everyone if the topic remains the same type after the edit... but it also opens it up to abuse if someone decides to change the content of the stickied topic to something offensive.

I want to fix this.. I think it's a lot easier to fix the occasional isolated abuse scenario than to have to keep re-stickying topics daily.

That is a great solution! Still haven't heard anything from the script author. :(

Yeah, apparently the modification is no longer supported by the author. The solution will be to edit the SECOND post, not the first.

Do we know if this is still an issue? I would assume this is not a problem in vB and we can unsticky this?
