You can always slap two on a car and no pipe it... You just buy the muffler then the tip... But why ol WHY would you want to do something like that? MAYBE just maybe the S/C tC would warrant the need for a dual exhaust system... If you plan on putting it on the stocker, then I'm pretty sure you are going to have to do the all looks method...

Unfortunately, out of the few things I consider rice, having dual exhaust with melon tips on a 4 cyl econ box would be one of them :( (everyone knows this was comming :()

5 psi of boost will only force about 1/3 more air through the muffler, so a slightly higher flow muffler might do some good, but I'd bet that is the design of the TRD system... that system wouldn't be tolerable by most people's standards...

I rode in a 330i with a "coffee can" muffler on it... under any level of acceleration you can't even talk... forget talking on the cell phone... and by having two of those on a 2.4 L even with the 33% gain from a SC, you'd still be drowned...

one coffee can would be plenty...

and the other point... how does a muffler affect smog output?? I'm not in CA, so I don't know the restrictions, but are you penalized for more tips??

Yeah! cops, you gotta love them, NOT. Get the TRD eshaust, it should be 50 state legal.

Dual exhaust on an I4 is kinda stupid, don'tcha think? I agree that it looks cool. But there only 1 header afterall... I... I... I...

The 350z has a V6.... V.... V....

Edit: Basically you couldn't install a proper dual exhaust because of the tC's engine/cylinder configuration. All the cylinders are effectively in a line, like an I. There is no need for dual exhaust in such an engine Even if you were to super-mod it and required more breathing at the tail pipe, dual exhaust is not the answer. It is also transversely mounted.

V12s, V8s, V6s, Vxx etc.. Can make effective use of dual exhaust (particularly when RWD) because of the seperated cilinder banks- the" V" if you will.

Some heavy breathing RWD I6 engines use dual exhaust, but the engine must be mounted in FR(wd) fashion.

The legality ofan exhaust doesn't have much to do with being able to pass smog or not. If this was true, then most generic MIDAS mufflers wouldn't be 50-state legal. The issue comes with noise and being able to keep the noise less than 95dB.

you can put that set-up on, but mind you that its gonna be quiet. I have only seen a small preview of the exhaust, but I already don't like the tC set-up from the manifold back. I would need a tC to further due RnD on the vehicle. :D
