Converter Delete question
What most people today don't understand is that modern catalytic converters do very little to actually limit performance. The gains seen by removing a catalytic converter in a modern vehicle are minimal if existent at all. And in some cases removing the catalytic converter can cause you to loose power.
In some cases replacing the stock catalytic converter with an aftermarket high flow unit can make a slight difference. But from what I have read on here, there is only one aftermarket converter that is even worth consideration.
At least this is the way it has been explained to me by the exhaust shops I have dealt with. I know there are exhaust pros in here (Stylis), so if anything I have said is incorrect, let me know.

Removing the catalytic converter will cause the check engine light to come on. This has been proven and will cause your gas milage to go down in the crapper. Your motor will dump fuel into exhaust system and your idle will be wierd in some cases. We have VVT-I, so the motor will try to correct it self if the readings are not there from the 02 sensors. Eric M. was the very first scion guy to do this, I know because I built him the system 2.5 years ago. (Man I'm old) :D Anyway, I hope this info will help you in your decision.
I removed mine a few months back the CEL came on as well as the VSC and TRAC off and stays on but I kew that would happen. My milage has gone down some, but not that much, Idle is fine. I removed mine b/c I am working on doing a flame thower exhaust so I needed as much extra gas in the exahust as possable. I have not had time to do any more work on it so I don't know if it will work or not. All I would like to know is if I can get the lights to go off and still not have the cat.
I found that on my 02 SVT focus removing the cat was the best gain I got from the car, but it never ran right after that. ANY catylitic converter is restrictive ours are probably the most effecient ones I've seen. In my opinion removing the cat will give you gains with a I/H/E setup. But definately not worth doing without some type of fuel management system.
