I wanted to know if there are holes in the front bumper for a license plate? If so is there any way I can NOT have them on my XB. Ive never put license plates on fronts so I dont really want them. let me know! :D

Mine didnt come with holes and I dont think anyones did. I have read a post somewhere that said people that have front liscense plates had to have holes drilled in the bumper. Hope this helps.

They come clean and undefiled until the dealer decides to drill holes for the front plate. Gotta maximize that dealership advertising....

My xB had no holes but it has dimples where you would drill to add holes...

sucks man, they drilled mine at the dealer. I didn't have enough time to tell them not to, but its ok. I have my plate to the side now.

It looks like you have the plate attached through the grill. Where'd you get the parts? I'm hoping to order (since I never see the color I want) an xB in a couple of months and I'm going to request that the dealership not drill for the plates. I'd rather mount it like yours, and remove it any time I like.

I know it's the law in CA, but I'd like to avoid the unsightly holes in the bumper.

I used a 3 inch bolt, four washers and 8 nuts to have it go through my grill. Just go to anyhardware store and find the bolts that can go through your plate. Easy DIY. :o

So do you think I should ask my dealer about this and make sure they don't anyway???

If you don't want holes in your van, tell them not to put them in there. Dealerships are normally very responsive to requests like that. They don't want to lose a sale for something as trivial as a license mount (trivial to them). I hate front plates. I like the clean look.

i told my salesman that i wouldnt complete the sale if my xb had holes on the front bumper when it came in. he called me yesterday and said my xb arrived and that he stopped them from drilling holes in the bumper.

so, if u are buying one off of the lot, chances are, they prolly already have holes. if you are ordering one, be sure to tell ur salesman.

I asked my dealer not to drill the bumper and not to add there vinyl to the back of it either, they were cool about it. But still put there tag frame in it.

Yeah the dealerships will abid by simple requests like that, however if you have an experienced sales man, he will look at you wierd if you call you box a "Van"

When I looked into getting my xB, I had my sales guy make sure they didn';t mount the front plate on it. Yes, its illegal in CA, but so is just about anything you do to a car that isn't factory installed.

I call it a van because that how the insurance companies view it and it's just kind of quirky.

Holes are already there, they are just painted over until you decide to poke a bolt through.

You don't need to drill, a self-tapping screw will do it. You can see the two little dimples where it goes in the middle.

I got lucky and they didn't do mine...

The bumper comes with dimples, and the plastic has bosses molded into the backside to accommodate the sheet metal screws used to mount the plate.
