Default Empty space when you remove the OEM rearview

For those of you who've removed your stock rearview, what did you do to fill that empty space? It's just plain ugly with the empty screw holes and exposed metal.

Please post pix if you got em. Thanks!

yeah, i would've preferred mounting it on the headliner, but the increased size/depth of the new mirror interfered with the sunvisors coming down. mounting it on the glass solved that problem and even placed the mirror closer to my peripheral vision.

that monitor looks killer... great idea for the backup camera

I went another route when I put my Gentex on.

I decided I would probably never use the factory mirror again, so I hacked it off right at the base, the same size as the plastic cover, with a hack saw. (It's made of metal)
I then smoothed it out on the belt sander and painted it the original color with Testors model paint. Then mounted the stub back up there and covered it with the factory plastic cover. You hardly even notice it....just looks like it belongs there. Just a little square plactic thingy the same color as the headliner.

Sorry.. no pic"s

I have thought of mounting my gps there. i have been able to get it to fit even with the factory mirror in place.
