possible move to texas, need opinions asap :)
Ok I want to move to Corpus Christi area next to the beach, and I have checked out a few places on apartments.com and it doesnt seem that expensive for what i would be getting. I want personal opinions on the people that live in that area please. ALso if anyone knew anyone renting a room out that would be cool!
Either way, I am wondering about employment there...i have done sales/retail/restraunt....the usual for a 20 year old
Let me know opinions please, have to be out by end of may
thanks, thomas

Dude, if you think Miami is expensive, then forget Hawaii! Cost of living there is a major killer. You can find rentals pretty cheap, but everything from milk to gas is much more expensive there.
goto http://www.bankrate.com/brm/movecalc.asp to get an idea on cost of living in the US.
Trust me, I've relocated A LOT in the last 6 years and always use this to give me an idea on how to negotiate my salary.
Anywho, good luck on finding the right place for you.

I lived in Hawaii for about a year, and i tell you right now you would get bored quick, plus it is very true you can find areas to live cheap, but LIVING there and buying things you would be SOL due to the import taxes they put on EVERYTHING. Expecially if you want to mod your car. Install prices are high.
I was in the Navy, but when i went off base it was expensive to go out... If i didnt have the Base to Fill Up my Truck, i would have been broke. even though there arent to many places to go once you get used to it, Pearl City and downtown Waikiki is the only places you would stay around for fun. Unlesss you are polenesian(?msp).. LOL..
As for TX, you gotta come.. Dallas is awesome, but if i had a choice i would love to live around Austin for a while.. San Antonio is deffinately a place i would love to live near. Basically anywhere TX bro. the more South you go, the more Humid it gets.
Good Luck, and WELCOME TO TX...... lol...
