Default 05 xb dual exhaust

First i would like to start off and say that if this question has already been answered im sorry for asking again cus i couldnt find it anywhere. Im new to the board and still trying to get a hang of things. Ok now to the question. I have only seen 2 xBs with dual exhaust, one on the streets here in Florida and another on this site. Well i loved the way they looked and was interested in getting dual ex myself. But i was talking to a friend of mine and said i would lose HP, and lower gas mileage. the gas mileage is not that much of a concern to me. now if i kep my same headers, and just split the pipes near the rear wouldnt that be the same as the original exhaust i have? well im not the smartest guy when it comes to car mods, im just getting into it. any help will be nice.
Thanks.

also intersted in the same question.... glad i didn't have to start a new thread... i remember seen some guys with universal mufflers that they put on for dual exhaust, but heard of problems with back pressure from a low HP engine....

looking to setup dual universal mufflers (like the Mspec, or Magnaflow... etc) Planning on changing to Megan 4-1 headers, and then split the piping near the rear.

any word of losing too much back pressure, HP, poor sound with the large duals, Gas Mileage... any real problems i am not thinking of...

ok talked with some muffler guys yesterday during our Island wide NRG Cruise....

anyways what they said about dual exhaust is that you will be fine if you go with the regular exhaust. many universal mufflers are a striaght through designed for turbo applications, if you have two of these without turbo, you will be losing back pressure which loses POWER... as long as they are regular or normal applications we will be fine with duals. YAY
