Default removing paint from calipers and drums

i bought my car used and the previous owner painted the calipers, drums, letters on the engine cover, oil cap, and prop rod red. although i m runnin bare steelies i do not want my brakes red since i m gonna go for the black out look when eventually have the money to go full bore and i have off skool this week so i figure it would be a premo time remove the paint. the stuff under the hood bothers me, but the brakes bother me worse. what is the best way to remove it? brake cleaner? black paint? and i dont mind having the silvery grey bare metal look.

paint over it. you could use carb cleaner to remove the paint but it may remove the black paint underneath too.

Strip them and paint them whatever color you want. I redid mine from red to gunmetal and they look like new all over again.

On the drums I removed them and used aircraft stripper. Took em right down to virgin metal. On the front I wire wheeled them then wiped em down with brake cleaner and painted them.
