So it appears that its said for some time now on the Blitz website that they have a supercharger for the xB. Does anyone have any info on whether this is actually available yet.......or is it still in the works?

How about pricing information? Anyone have any clues or inside tips?

They are available according to my buddy Mark over at SP Engineering work.

If you want more info then you can contact him at

Just tell him Mark from Longo referred you. He's hella cool.

BTW SP does some high end stuff so don't worry about them being scheisty or anything

Ok......called SP.......didn't get a hold of Mark........but the phone jockey said MSRP is about $3500. So who knows what that means in terms of what we'll actually pay. He also said he doesn't believe it will be available for purchase until after SEMA. :?:

You can get that kit right now from rotary xecret in city of industry for $2800 but the instructions will be in japanese. The reason the kits will be after SEMA is because nobody is at blitz right now and they can't translate it yet so if you can translate it now, you'll be the first with the kit.

arinvolvo
11-04-2003, 09:07 PM
I read on the ScionLife newsletter that there was a Blitx supercharger kit in the works with an adjustable boost control...Pushing 13-14 psi...

That sounds a little crazy, but do you think this is the same system?

showpaojoe
11-04-2003, 09:16 PM
I think it's 6-8psi safely cuz it comes with intercooler and tuned ecu. 13-14psi would be crazy tho, I need that to haul my subs.

I have the engine sitting lonesome in a garage and in a couple months I dream of somehow sticking it in the xB when I get some real cash. One day but for now, no, sorry but I'm crying at that bad line also. But if that group buy does happen, I'll get it also. Sorry fellas, I'll dress to impress real soon tho, I'm gunna go spank myself for that outburst tho

So does anyone have any real idea what a system like this does to the vehicle warranty? Or is it all just speculation at this point?

KiL

KingLou
11-05-2003, 10:16 AM
As far as boost goes.......I'm just not imagining anything safe beyond 7 psi. 14 psi? Good lord......you'll throw a rod through your engine block, through the firewall, into the back seat, and harpoon your unsuspecting child through the head.

Course.......that's just my assumption that these little engines probably don't have rods that can handle that kind of boost.

Could the Scion fuel system even keep up with 14 psi?

You also better hope your $hit is staying cool.....so the intercooler needs to be good and well placed. Probably also want an air/fuel ratio meter just to keep your eye on things. End up getting some good detonation.......and you're engine's a paper weight.

I talked to the trd guys at SEMA today, Just about anything you do that is not installed by a toyota dealership void that part of the warranty. Which I find Ironic that the so called qualified tech from toyota can do the job and F*!K it up and toyota will warranty it, but a qualified shop can do the job and if some fails because nothing the shop did it voids the warranty. Ten years later the battle between after market and oem rages on.

Since he is your boy and all mark--do you think the guys at SP can beat the 2800 at that other place in socal.

Now I don't know anyone personally at SP--but from what I discern...they are good to your IF you come loaded in the walletbook. Who knows though--they may be able to beat that aforementioned place.

gain in hp to the wheel or flywheel?

will it effect emission? sniffer or visual

showpaojoe
11-08-2003, 02:47 AM
From what I've been told, it should be about 145-150 flywheel hp. Their not allowed to sell it yet though cuz it hasn't been cleared by blitz. Should be tho in about a week or two. I tried to get it and rotary 7 told me when blitz gets back next week theyl let me know.

I dunno who's willing to fork over 15-20 hours worth of labor for free..............but to be real honest, if the install takes that long........seems like the kit is too complex. I thought one of the benefits of super over turbocharged is simplicity?

I d love to hear the details on this kit. I was poking around SEMA myself and found another company from Denmark that may also be interested in doing a SC kit for the scion.

If retail cost is 3500 msrp, i doubt you guys will be able to get it for under 3200, 3k at best. Blitz is very tight about their pricing and I highly doubt that there will be that much of a margin in it for it to be sold that low Especially for what is involved. Which leads me to the second point. Stage one should probably not even need injectors or even an ECU upgrade. Prob wont include an intercooler or aftercooler either for that price.

Regardless, please keep us posted. I dont think it will be long before we have a variety of choices for FI :) The more competition, the better the packages

Mark @ SP said he needs 10 people to commit, and he can get great prices.
Send him a PM if you're serious.
Price is well below $3000.

8-12 hours most likely but still $100/hr is pricey and most likely worth it. I had a little shop near my house install a supercharger on a focus for $50/hr and it took about 10 hours. You definately get what you pay. They fukd it up so bad the first time around and it ended up taking almost 2 weeks. These are the same _______s who later put in the wrong freon in my a/c and the entire system burned down. $1200 for a great install is worth it for me.

He will know by next week which will be cool but I'm still gunna try and find out if my friend can still do a group buy as well just so we can have a little price fight-off. Who wants our business more?

Let's do some math here.... let say we got an semi-awesome deal of 2500 for the supercharger and 15 hours of labor @ 100. That's sums up to 4000 Gs for 30 HP.

Is it me or is that a bit much for 30HP (not sure if whp or crank hp) gain? Just my 2 cents which what I have in my pocket right now....

No prices out loud.
If the blitz isn't under warranty, and with that kinda cash, engine swap. Will the blitz be under warranty cuz if not, I aint gunna wait for trd. I already have the gt engine sitting next to me and that still is only gunna be 155 flywheel, same thing, same price. If both aren't street legal, thats a 4k waste for most people.
