Default When Ordering Nicer Wheels do I keep the stock wheels?

Hello,
I'm a newbie here. I am getting ready to order an XB. If I order the vehicle with the wheel upgrade does the dealer keep the stock wheels? Or if buy the XB with the stock wheels and then say a few months later go for the nicer wheels, is the price of the wheels higher or the same as If I ordered them as an option on theXB?
I'd like the stock steel wheels for wintertime driving, with four snows mounted. Anyone else done this?
Thanks,
Matt

Yes you should get your stock wheels. You paid for them, they are right there on your sticker price.

I would recommend you buy your own aftermarket wheels. They are cheaper, lighter, and you have more options as far as styles. If you must have the factory alloys, make sure the dealer doesn't keep your steelies and hubcaps, they are part of the car. If the dealer claims they lowered the price of the alloys as part of a "trade" for your stock wheels, just pay the difference.

Thanks Don...Speaking of price, the local dealers here in Nashville post only the price that's online at Scion. Do they ever offer discounts, does Scion ever reduce the prices at the end of the model year? Thanks, Matt

On the wheels, or cars?

As for the cars, it's all pure pricing at Scion. What you see is what you get. There's no talking them down on the MSRP. That's why you should save money on the overpriced accessories and get aftermarket.

You can buy all of the OEM Scion and TRD parts from online retailers and save money. You just need to install them yourself, which is easy to do on these cars. For the price of the Scion alloy wheels you could probably get a nice set of 17"s with tires.

I also have a question.......

I'm about to order an xB with the Scion wheel accessory 15"
alloys for $665, do I get the same tires already on the car
which I used to test drive ..... or do I get new tires?

The Sales men didn't seem to know, but said... 'new tires'
and we keep the original steel rims and tires, even
though the only have 50 miles on them.

Sort of confused me. What happened to others who got
the 15" alloy wheels?
