Not sure where to put this, so feel free to move it! Need some help here folks, I'm looking for a reference in the North Valley (Chico, Redbluff area) for high quality tinting for my xB. Any ideas?

Go see a buddy of mine in Woodland - it'll be worth the drive. Trust me.

His name is Raul and he owns TINTWERKS www.tintwerks.com. You can call him at 530-668-8468. Very nice guy, very professional and knows his stuff.

I'm in Alabama - so obviously (smart asses and 'haters') I'm not getting a thing out of the referral.

I bet I could pick it apart. I'm sure it looks decent - but as close to perfect as possible????

How big of a gap was left at the top edge of the glass?
ANSWER: NONE! a GOOD tint job will have ZERO top gap.

How far was the film tucked?
ANSWER: At least 2-3" , this will require the panel on a xB to be removed.

What was done about the factory door panel dust seal?
ANSWER: FELTED with aftermarket 'felt'. The factory plastic trim WILL scratch the tint.

How many "dust flecks" showed up after the film dried?
ANSWER: Zero? Not possible. But there shouldn't be any clusters of them either, and individual flecks can be rubbed out with the right tool.

What kind of warranty came with the DIY tint?
ANSWER: ZERO. People forget they are paying for a 'lifetime' of professional qaulity installation and tint on the vehicle, not just that one time. Scratch it - get it fixed. Peels - get it fixed. Bubble - get it fixed. Clean it with ammonia (like a dumbass) - get it fixed. FREE.

I'm not meaning to be an assh*le, seriously, but there is rarely a substitute for a professional in some things.

k brah, you hijacked my tint thread before. so you made some money ripping people off tinting. thats all good. but you can pick my tint apart all you want.

it doesnt look decent, it looks perfect.

and for removing panels, to tint ive taken the window out on one of the cars i did if i really want to get down to it.

you forget that your warranty with a diy tint is that you can re-do it. regardless of what your meaning to be, you was talking out the ___ like an _______.

to answer your questions:

dust - none

gap - ~1mm

film tuck - enough

dust seal - doesnt scratch my tint

lifetime warranty - my lifetime, not the car's lifetime

Default just a quick question regarding window tinting, et al.

hey all,
i always feel like i need to preface my messages with: i'm new to the world of car love, i'm also pretty freakin' obsessive-compulsive. adding these two things together means: i'm officially obsessive in regards to my car.
on xmas eve, i got talked into getting my windows tinted -- and i started to notice today things like little bits of dust between the window and film. not a HUGE amount of dust mind you, but you know, 2 to 4 per window.
needless to say: i'm freaking out that this will mean that my tinting will end up looking like those god awful purple tinted cars with all the bubbling and crap.
is there anything that can be done about those specks of dust?!
what should i do? am i over-obsessing? i kinda wanna call the place where i got the work done tomorrow to ask them to do somethin' about it - but i don't know how much can really be done about what's been done.
i knew i shouldn't have let myself get talked into tinting my windows, but the car does look really good with darker windows.....
