Hi, i am planing to get a AW header soon, then the S/C later on. If i show up at the dealer to get the S/C with the the haeder already installed , will they give me any problems?

 

if the header is the cause of the problem, then they will void your warranty.

they will give you crap if you took it in for a problem and they found it to be the header's fault then so they will not fix the problem.

but if it didnt, then your fine! :D

 

im thinking this too, its had to be done before, i just dont want them to give me a bunch of s#%! about it, ya know?

Well besides the hideous, indiscernable sound quality of that vid, you're supercharger seals are clearly gone, seeing as how crusted up oil is visible on the surface of the blower. Another one bites the dust.

 

The header really is up to the dealer. Some care and some dont. Some a few years ago were saying thats why the shafts were leaking. blah blah blah. If you dont have your s/c installed yet you should get the bearings upgraded before the install so your set for the future.

Yea that vid really hurt my ears - sounds like the bearings are starting to go. You should but the upgraded bearings, swap them, and put the charger back in. Nothing has fallen a part inside the charger ....thats what it starts to sound like before things fail (but you caught it in time so i would swap them) - the upgraded bearings are a lot better then stock.

 

i got the 4 bearings and 2 seals from kickcaffine before, they were installed by ptuning too. I don't know what is wrong now, maybe the shaft? well. i don't have the skill or any more money to mess with it. so ptuning will return my baby back to stock.

 

jwaggz82, i apploygize for damaging your ears. i will do any other sound clip with camera farther away. or maybe inside the car too.

 

^hehe - i had my earphones up pretty loud and wasnt expecting that. I know your out of $$ but if you redid the bearings it sounds like its a shaft issue. You should try to get a used one for pretty cheap.

 

Deff. looks like the output shaft seal went bad, if the shaft bearings went out along with the shaft, I can see how that might have affected the output shaft seal, it could have also affected one or all of the bearings inside, so even thou you got the better bearings & seal from "kik", once the shaft went bad it jeopardize everything else. I'm currently rebuilding mine, I'm not happy with all the money I have spent so far, but I'm glad I got the bearings/seals(from kikcaffe) and the upgraded shaft(from gompka) at the same time, that way I can avoid potential problems from both sides of this unit. It still might be cheaper to rebuild then going back to stock, but as of now gompka ran out of shafts, so you might want to jump on the list for the next batch, good luck man. Oh...and my dealer installed my SC when I had my DME header on there, so its just a matter of finding a dealer that will look the other way.

 

I have an AW header on my tC and had my Toyota/Scion dealership install the S/C and they never said anything except "we can't put the heat shield back on, just so you know" my response was "well yea, it's JetHot coated so don't worry about it"

In otherwords, no the dealership shouldn't say anything during install

Now if you have a warranty claim, it might be a different story...
