Electronic Box Under Seat on RS 3.0

Electronic Box Under Seat on RS 3.0
I was just under the front seats of our RS 3.0 to measure for underseat sub enclosures and encountered a small silver electronic box under the passenger seat.
Two questions:
1. What is it for?
2. Is it only on the 3.0s? If it is, I would wager it's for the headrest monitors....

I believe that is the brain for the Alpine head unit. That or it is the XM receiver. I noticed
it last night but have not looked at it closely. I just got the Sirius receiver in and I'm
going to convert it maybe this weekend. I'll let you know what I find.
