Default 2006 XA Speaker Sizes, Amps, Subs, and Sound Quality

I just went to www.crutchfield.com and had a confusing experience. I have searched all over and found nothing reliable about what speaker sizes will fit in each specific location of a 2006 XA without heavy modification. Drilling holes in mounting brackets isn't a big deal, but beyond that and I don't wanna mess with it.

What speakers are you all running? And what do you think of the sound? I'm willing to drop good money on quality sound.

Recommendations on quality amps?

Also, I would like to install a small subwoofer in the car, but I don't want it to take up any space. Have you ever heard of mounting a small one under a seat or in the spare wheel compartment?

Thanks in advance!

most sites other than crutchfield have reached the consensus that 6.5" speakers will fit in the stock locations. Crutcfield will only say that 6.5" COMPONENT speakers will fit (they tend to be conservative, they say double-DIN head units will not fit but all they need are small spacers on either side.)

There are several flat subs designed to be put under a seat- I know recently I saw one from Kicker. Also, bazooka tube subs are designed to be easily removed from the car if you need extra space, which was an option I was seriously considering.

Yeah, definitely interested in a sub under the seat. I PMed a few folkd on here that were talking about building them, and I thought that would be a great idea. I supposee I'll wait to hear from them.

I've seen a flat sub from clarion that allegedly sucks. Also, I've seen one from Kenwood that got decent reviews, and is cheaper, too.

But still, I think I'd rather get a dedicated amp and do it that way. I'm planning on mounting the sub under the passenger's seat, and the amp under the driver's seat.

Anyone care to recommend amps?

Speakers?

cmon! You folks have opinions that have probably changed since previous posts. Let's hear them!

Okay, I posted it there. Quick question: what does ICE stand for (in 'ICE and Interior')

Thanks. I'll try to keep the posts pertinent.
